jeff, you can't possibly be saying that you are breeding dogs for yourself and your goals and not for the betterment of the breed @ $1500 a pop (pup).

You must be some kind of nut job.

Hope you are planning on selling the wash outs on limited registration and telling all of us here how you only breed for the betterment of the GSD and not your dream of what the GSD should be.

I am charging 800 and I am probably a nut job.

What does limited registration mean ?? LOL

I admit I am going for the dream and not a pet farm. : )

sorry jeff, couldn't help taking a shot at all those who only breed to advance the GSD (@$2000 a pop).

I really wonder how many have actually ever bred a litter for a dream and not a bank account.

Rik, what price denotes puppy farm and what price indicates a breeder who has a dream but can't keep 10 puppies themselves? You've thrown out some pretty high prices previously, which to me are obvious what the motives are, but $1500? Really? I think that's damn reasonable if it's a good, well thought out breeding (assuming surveyed, KKL1, titled parents w/sound joints). I think Jeff's pups are priced  right (considering the economy and the fact that they have to deal with Jefflaugh, LOL), if not low if the dam isn't titled (I haven't looked at the ped-just saying IF that's the case). Obviously, he's not out just to make money, but where do you draw the line? Is it number of litters or lack of planning or price or....?

I have taken the same shot. I see people breeding all kinds of shit and charging 12- 1500 and getting it because they have the sappy facebook page and are nicey nicey and love to discuss colors and shapes.

$800 is reasonable for a litter whose sire AND dam are not only NOT titled, but are under 2 years old, not hip or elbow rated..... especially when the buyers will have to deal with Jeff, as well as dealing with him again if/when (probably when) any problems crop up with the pups' temperament and/or health down the road....  But, puppies are probably fine despite the breeder obviously not caring at all about following any of the guidelines that responsible breeders follow.

I'd say $1500 - $2000 for working line litters with BOTH sire and dam are titled, breed surveyed, conformation rated, hip/elbow rated, worked and tested with top pedigrees is very reasonable indeed.
