back when I had delusions of being a breeder, I would keep all promising females. they tend to pick themselves if given time.

I agree. I keep a couple and keep a couple more close by w/trusted acquaintances. A good female is worth her weight in gold.

Hey, Jeff...what are your criteria for the pick females? I am facing the same dilemma...picking from 3 girls.

by Jenni78 on 01 March 2011 - 19:03
Good question, Sina. Whatever Jeff's criteria is, you should do the opposite!
Not being able to pick is always a good sign.

Jenn, having conversed with you on your dogs, I respect very much what you do. I love your bitch.
But from the stand point of attempting to breed and create my own version of the GSD (distant past), I also respect what Jeff is doing. It is what he believes and is putting his time and finances into.
I wish you both the best,
Rik

Hard bite. Acts like a girl. Is madly in love with handler "wrapped around your finger". Not hard, not soft, but dead in the middle.
Of course this is perfect world stuff, but I want the hard bite, and acts like a girl. There are a lot of "givens" that I did not mention, but they are the obvious. I wish I was past first gen, so I would have a better chance of being right, but I am usually pretty good at this. Of course, I might cheat like I said and keep them all until it becomes obvious. Right now, I am back and forth. Could be worse, could be looking at one and then maybe.

Here is Mom, doing her search and rescue/rotted mouse thing.

Rik, I gave your sense of humor more credit than that!
I thought that was an obvious joke. I guess nothing is obvious and I must strive to be more literal. <sigh>
I have no idea what you meant by the rest of it.
