This "we" you refer to, is? Not you! You don't show, breed or (sorry) know what a decent dog should look like IMO.
Ultimately, Abnor this thread could have been good... you ruined it, you made peeps question your real agenda. That happens when you threaten, goad and bully.... yes, you accuse Videx of bullying, but look at your own posts (and a couple of others) especially on the first two pages. You also made it clear that all carrier dogs should be withdrawn from stud IYO... yeah, you had a rethink on that when Mo or Shirley put you right, but rather than admit your faux pas, you denied it.
As I previously said, I will test my dog, I will not publish the results on the PD page and neither will a few others that I have spoken to (not my influence btw) because of the content of this thread. Largely, that is down to you Abnor... good job, well done!
Again, I say to you, don't tell us what you think, show us what you do!

Wow, that's given you a good 'out'. Nice one - well played. (I noticed that being set up a good few pages back) LOL.
D'you know what though? People just aren't that stupid.
Actually I credit the majority of good breeders with far more intelligence than you clearly do, the ones who have a totally open and genuine approach to breed health, and want to use this as a tool to improve the breed. They will use it, of that I have no doubt. There are still plenty who put the breed first, and they are the future of this breed.

Yes, I expect quite a few will test Abnor... not sure how many will leave themselves open to the likes of you picking over the bones tho'. That's the reason some won't publish, carrier or not!
Breeders aren't stupid at all, (interesting adjectives you select) just wary of you and those like you. You may "credit" breeders now, but you're a few pages too late to make a difference!
I feel you're getting a little shrill again Abnor... I hope you learn from what you've done here. Are we any closer to you showing us what you do?
Banter with me all you wish... this is your mess!

There you go misquoting me again. I think it is you who sounds a little shrill and somewhat desperate to convince people I am saying things which I am not. I also believe that most people are able to read and put things into context.
Your determination in attempting to sabotage and mutilate this thread is truly awesome. Your motive for doing so must be extremely compelling.

my,my wot a mess this thread has become.cant we all calm down and be pleasant. All this name calling is getting the breed anywhere,is it?WHERE WILL I GO FOR A GSD?????????????TO A BREEDER WHO HAS USED A PD TESTED STUD,WHO,S RESULT IS MADE PUBLIC AND WHOSE DAMS IS TESTED AND RESULTS MADE PUBLIC OF COURSE.WOULD I BUY ONE FROM A CLEAR TO A CARRIER.........YES IF I LIKED THE DAM / STUD......KNEW THE BREEDERS BREEDING /ETHICS.i cant understand why one would test and not reveal the results especially if the result was clear.dont make sense to me,cutting ones nose off to spite ones face comes to mind.I wonder if i want to continue in the breed as it seems to be going downhill and it aint the DOGS i,m refering to.i might not agree with some on here but i try to phrase wot i say in as nice as a way i can,but i,d better get off before i lose my rag completely.Carole S.

When people eventually realise how totally insignificant PD is to the carriers and to the breed and to the breeds future, they may realise how downright silly some of them are to have any worries about it. They may also realise how silly there opinions and views are by ANY comparison with most other genetic mutations within ALL dogs. I have never read so much ill-informed ignorance and downright stupidity in all of my 65+ years.

Shepherdguy.....AND I ALSO REPEAT, how the hell do you know the breeders who test? Because it's not on the Jaquenetta website? You are presuming way too much by the statistics on that site. While I find the Jaquenetta site very informative it is not the be all and end all of everything going on in the GSD community. If this is where you gain all your info, no wonder you are so ill informed. You two keep up your scare mongering, doom and gloom, and soon no one in their right mind will want to own a GSD, believing the breed to be afflicted with more diseases than you can shake a stick at!!!!! This is more damaging to the breed than ANYTHING most breeders could ever do. Troublemakers????? Your kidding right Shepherdguy??? From a few posts in ABBY has given the impression her only concern was what a couple of breeders were doing and NOT CONCERNED about PD testing in general. Concern for the breed??? Don't make me laugh, shit stirring ABSOLUTELY.

by missbeeb on 14 December 2010 - 18:12
I'm totally calm Noddi... thanks.
You are right about peeps being able to read the posts Abnor... there's no misquoting, no need. You provide the motive for us all... more irritating than compelling, but credit where it's due... you kept bumping & bumping with the goads and threats... now that's determination!
Sabotage and mutilate?

Any update on what you do for our breed?

by jaymesie51 on 14 December 2010 - 18:12
the thing about pd is that 99% of gsd pups go to joe public who have no interest in breeding, so if the sire and dam are not tested for pd it wont make any difference to joe public, only to the ones who want to breed from their pup, when its old enough, what i am saying is that if there pup is a carrier they wont care because there dog will still be a healthy happy pup if purchased from hip/elbow scored and haem tested parents.now ask joe public if he would prefer a pup from hip/elbow scored parents or one from parents that are pd clear. This is a VISABLE disease can be more or less seen by the time a pup is 6 weeks old not like hips/elbows heam/epilepsy cdrm etc so like i say the public will not care two hoots about pd because their dog will look like it should. That is why most breeders wont bother with this test.

David states.....
The perceived benefits of PD testing, and carefully considering all of the likely resultant consequences, are far outweighed by the considerable damages to our breed. Why? In What Way?
Most people writing on this thread cannot and will not begin to grasp the numerous negative consequences of the PD test.. They are?
Be assured the PD DNA test will NEVER take off. Why ? Many of you will take months and most probably years to even begin to understand why? Many will NEVER understand why, agreed, as I cant see it and need to know and who cares? possibly not only me
This is not me trying to be "clever" David, I am genuinely thinking that you have a reason for saying this, and with an open mind, I will appreciate knowing why you are so negative about it, when I have heard the other side, and like to know all I can. I have asked this way rather than on private email, as I think lots of people will be wondering like me, at least I hope they will, or perhaps I am the only "numptie".
