Let's get real and stop the selective outrage.

Dorner taking the law into his own hands cannot be condoned but what I find disconcerting is the pass that is being given to the LAPD for what appears to be allowing an environment that encourages or, at the least, does not take any punitive action against errant officers. Should the LAPD not be held to an even higher standard than the average citizen given the power that is vested in them?

We don't hear a peep from those who are willing to judge Dorner harshly when it comes to the LAPD. I will repeat that it was the alleged injustice by the LAPD against Dorner that was the catalyst for his actions.

KTF,

No doubt there will be valid points to his grievences. There is probably a pattern where he does not follow proper channels to address this! I can only guess this based on his past behaviour.

BE4U... you are beyond help.

I think so too - this isn't just about why he lost his job. Interestingly a year ago yesterday that Orange County deputy Darren Sandberg executed Marine Sgt. Manny Loggins in front of his daughters because the deputy thought he was acting irrationally.

He was a big black guy too, which is probably what caused the murdering deputy to open up on him. It seems kind of like poetic justice that exactly to the day one year later the LAPD are having to live in fear of one of their "brothers" ...

His unedited manifesto - if you read and reread and reread it becomes clear it's cryptic.

What past behavior are you referring to, bee?

Does the link below suggest someone who has behavioral problems?

Keepthefaith,
I have no idea and neither does any one else posting here know in regards to "Teresa Evans" and what actually happened or was reported.  I was not there and to the best of my knowledge none of the PDB posters were there either.  One thing I do know is not to blindly believe what the press reports and judge others based on that.  The LAPD will probably not release the details of any Internal Affairs investigations, so I have no basis to form an opinion or first hand information.  I do know that Officers get fired routinely for infractions and it is often necessary to weed out the bad apples.  I can say from what has happened that Dorner should have never been a Police Officer, obviously he was and still is very unstable.  I would not believe the ramblings of a manic depressive homicidal maniac, so his "Manifesto" only shows premeditated murder and doesn't make his case look very good to me.  What ever the reason(s) he was fired and there was probably more than one; I would not believe his reasoning in his manic diatribe.

With regards to the citizens shot accidental, that is horrible and those Officers will be held accountable.  I have no idea how or why that and I will not speculate, that is best left to the rest of you.  I only wish a speedy recovery to those two individuals.

I would never and will never condone excessive force by any LEO.  I am in situations on a regular basis where I make decisions on the use of force and am forced by suspect actions to use force to effect arrests.  One of the reasons that I was chosen to be a K-9 Officer was my decision making skills and my track record with the use of force.  Being in K-9, my job is to respond to the "violent subject" calls and those subjects most likely to fight, flee, resist arrest or harm a citizen.  I teach Defensive tactics and the appropriate conflict resolution skills to our recruits and Officers.  I also teach firearms and many other skills and classes to our recruits.  I have made thousands of arrests and have had no founded or substantiated excess force complaints.  I have been assaulted on several occasions and have fought with many determined suspects.   I will not get involved in crazy conspiracy theories or baseless corruption theories about the gov't, Police or any other institution as many here love to do.

I would prefer that you do not refer to me any further on this thread or any others as I have no desire to continue with the crap posted here.

I think you're an honest cop and a good guy Slam, which is why you tend to think most cops are like you, and I hope they are.

I reread the manifesto and felt myself seeing this little black kid, probably the only one in his class, having to put up with being bullied everyday.  I can see why he's grown up to have compassion for those who are treated unfairly, and I can see why he's so angry.
He's going to come out on the losing end I'm sure.  Hopefully he's not leaving some impressionable little boy behind. (Edit:  no family, just read that)
If he is telling the truth, I hope that there are some honest individuals who will stand up to a corrupt department and make sure justice is served.

KTF,

The past behaviour I was referring to was his most immediate last actions. He took the law into his own hands.

The link you provided is a sterling record, that now bears the above to be added. A grand tarnishment, I think.

He's going to come out on the losing end I'm sure

By his own homicidal actions, I have little compassion for homicidal maniacs bent on mass destruction and terror.  He is quickly becoming just another domestic terrorist on a killing spree.  I'm sorry but murder does not justify his perceived ill treatment and being fired.

LOL....

Then stop.

If you caught the evening news, Diane Sawyer ABC, the coverage was an all out call for shoot on site.
They played this to the hilt, and not one word, not a word about the women, or the allegations, or the second truck.
