Pay money for something like that?!! No way. Might as well be flushing it down the toilet.
Not a jot of use to a policeman in a dark alley who needs to go home alive to his young family.
German Shepherds are two different breeds today. The false ring runners and the true working line.

Like someone cannot find bad examples of workingline to throw on here as well? lol Good and bad exist of each type. It is IMO pretty ignorant to attack one over the other when things can be improved on each.
If someone feels that strongly against all of one type then I am thankful they are not part of them as I cannot fathom the persons temperament doing well with any dog.

This is not just ANY example.
This is from the NASS, the supposed best of the best of GSDs in the US. These are the cream of the crop in the WHOLE of America. These dogs command obscene stud fees and adulation.
These are supposed to be qualified SCH3 dogs. LOL.
Look at the VA-1 dog in the first video. For the police officers on this forum, tell me if you want that dog by your side on a dark night's call out. I wouldn't.
Yup there are working dogs who don't make the grade, but they DO NOT get VA-1 in a national GSD show, LOL. They are usually never bred from and lead a quiet pet life. Nobody exchanges thousands of dollars for a pup sired by them. This is what is wrong with the GSD.

Do you consider Sheep herding Competitions Herding where you the Dog takes a flock of sheep over a complcated course through obstacles and splitting the herd up with certain marked sheep to be taken out etc Up hill and down dale, So if you count that as Herding and it is in Europe then YES. around 20 times a winner but with Collies

Okay Guys, lets take off all the useless Schutzund Dogs out of the Sport Total, that included all forms of biting work sports to do something else more useful and more of what they were bred to do..
So now we have 1000's of more dogs training to be Herding Dogs
1000's of more dogs training to be Police Dogs and other service Dogs
1000's of more dogs to be PP dogs
Other trades i may have missed but that is no problem
So where are these useless Schutzund dogs going to find the work if they can be trained to do any of them,
NO' they are not going to find any work in any other areas there is not the call for them to do that work.
So what will happen to them, The owner keeps them as Couch potato Pets or they go to the Dog pound to be put down
Now we come to the Show Lines, They cannot do nothing much else but run around the ring to help keep there owners fit, then stand still and look pretty, that's there bit in life, Bitework is out so thats there lot there are no Schutzund clubs around any more they went out with the ScH dogs demise in the sport.
I cannot say the SL will not make a go of herding
As Police Dogs and Service Dogs and PP Dogs they possibly would not have the temperament for those jobs anyway, But hang on there is no call for those dogs to do any of that type of work
WHY' because the influx of Dogs is greater than the demand same as the ScH dogs
So what happens to these Show line Dogs, well of course they end up as couch potatoes and are just kept for pets Or they go to the Dog Pound to be put down,
Harsh is it not, When will us people wake up to the fact that the SL and the WL dogs are not into competition with each other, The call for service dogs or PP dogs or herding dogs is not so much in demand so why do folks keep on comparing those Dogs to Dogs who do Sport or Show ring, I think you will get what i am getting on about. They all do a job of work in effect better than laying on a Couch getting Fat and Old quicker than they already do.

Somehow someone forgot to tell my showline pup he is not capable of doing anything so useful as saving my life as my service dog working on a daily basis.
