I read the email from the buyer-----You posted it. (And my reading comprehension is usually right up there with the best of them, thank you.) From the email, dated June 5th, the buyer describes the dog's problems (debatable, yes), but is still torn enough to try and make it work.  She is asking for some advice...."I would like more information on the condition and what if anything can be done."  Your response...."We will gladly refund your money in full upon return of your puppy." (Sounds to me, she was attached, confused, and seeking help.  Your reply---return the dog.  Come on....that's not really an option for a person whose heartstrings are involved.)

I'm still capable of remaining somewhat objective..even with the 'jump on the bandwagon' crack.  Upsetting thread.  If you say as a breeder there were no legitimate signs to foretell problems down the road with the pup, then only experienced breeders would be able to assess that statement as questionable or not.  (I won't end my post with poor puppy, poor puppy buyer, or even poor puppy breeder this time.)

Hey there Von Erzengel, it's rather difficult to send you an email when you did not leave an email address to respond to. I cannot  send one thru the database. Why don't you send it to me privately at:

hellsbeast02@yahoo.com

thank you,

Debbie

Marci, I don't think the breeder still owns the dog. Sure I'd want to be sure all this was actually wrong with the dog and as I've already stated more than once, I would require a statement from a vet and copies of a good quality hip xray in addition to actual photos of the dog. In lieu of that I would take the word of another breeder who could go and look at the dog in my stead. I've often asked my breeder friends to do a house visit for me and they ask me for the same; this would be no different.  Regardless, I would never expect a buyer to return a dog to me prior to giving them a refund. Anyone who would be willing to do that would only get money, never, ever another dog from me.

Is it possible to show us a picture of the dog in question??? Thanks

Hi

I am Taunya Mravik. Josef and I own Eurosport K9. I have never posted anything on a message board and rarely have I read one but this came to my attention and it bothered me enough to sit down- figure out how to register and write a response.

First, Ben did not have bad hips. What a crazy thing to say. Do you really think the border patrol would use a dog at stud who has bad hips? He had 0/2 which is the equivalent to excellent on one side and fair on the other. With OFA, that would be rated as FAIR. Totally breedable. Grim - Bens son- had 0/0 hips and worked until he was 10 years old. You insult all of Czechoslovakia when you say things like this.

Second, Malinda is my friend but putting that aside, she has done what she said she would do. If a buyer decides not to take money back for a puppy- that is their right but at that time- the seller has no more obligation to that buyer. At that time, the buyer had committed to keep the dog and do whatever it takes to fix or NOT fix the dog.

Tom z Pohranicni Straze was a great sire but I saw a dwarf that he produce with a super brood bitch. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. 7 of the litter of 8 were great working dogs and normal. Genetics are a mystery to all of us.

Von Erzengel Z littler Puppy with Major Genetic Defects , it would help a lot if you could post a picture of the puppy. Go to Photobucket, and open an account, then upload the picture from your computer or camera card. (I am assuming you have a digital camera, if not, you will have to scan  a non-digital picture onto your hard drive.  Here's the photobucket site, registration is free: http://photobucket.com/

You can then post the URL of the photo on this site, and people can click on it to view the photo. (I haven't yet figured out how to post a photo directly as some people here are doing.)

<<Taunya>>

With all do respect, It is common knowledge that Ben had bad hips. Line breeding this close on Ben is not a good Idea. I have Grim in my dogs and i like them, but I am very careful whom I bred them to. By OFA standards Ben had bad hips period. You ought to know since you are American and raised and showed Rotties for a while. Right?

Speaking of photos, that picture of the puppy that says OWNED, looks messed up!  Did you see how long his neck is?  I would want my money back too!  I mean, I've heard of green dogs, but that is rediculous!

Send your email to cobet12000@yahoo.com   that photoshop someone listed I cant get access to while at work.  I have photos of the xrays of the dog, and also a video clips.   I will try the photo shop thing once off duty.

I beg to differ Tanya on the hips.

0="a"="normal"

1="b"="fast"

2="c"="noch"

Now you can translate this to OFA anyway you like. Thats is the Czech, Slovakian and German way:-)

Ben had a/c hips and bad elbows, I will stand behind it. And yes, the "border patrol" would and did breed questionable hips:-) as well as "other breeders"

P.S. Now days it is called Czech Republik.
