I think the Germanic show type will leave us eventually, probably after a lot of unpleasantness but Videx wants the divide now according to emails so I can see no reason why they should not do what they want to do.

I would urge the two UK WUSV Member Clubs GSD League & BAGSD to pursue the organisation of "Regional GSD Events" under WUSV Rules, throughout Great Britain for the year 2012. They could ask the GSD Breed Clubs that expected to have CH. Shows in 2012, if they would be interested in hosting such an Event.
If the Kennel Club try to be difficult over the organising of such events, then legal advice must be sort, because when the Kennel Clubs unilateral decision to suspend/cancel CC's for all GSD Shows in 2012 is considered, it is my opinion they would have a very difficult time making legal arguments that they be allowed STOP or IMPEDE the GSD fraternity in the UK from organising and holding alternative Regional GSD Events under WUSV Rules, in a similar way the "British Sieger" under WUSV Rules, has been organised and held so very successfully over a number of years.

The requirement of minimal health screening standards. The requirement of identification by microchip and DNA tests for parentage. The requirement for Open/Adult dog classes to require a Breed Survey pass. The requirement for each exhibit to be graded by the Judge. We have often been frustrated by what the Kennel Club refuses to do for our breed, so here in an opportunity to do some things for our breed ourselves. We should grasp this opportunity.

I do not know anything about what the Alsatianist people do BUT the middle of the road and working german shepherd breeders certainly do all the health tests and they do not have unsoundness, cowhocks, steeply sloping or roached backs either.
A good looking dog with balance in body and mind is the aim without dog agression and excitability. I hope some involved in this 'thread' will agree and let us return to what the true German Shepherd should be. There are dogs here which can help or alternatively, look to the Working side of German Shepherd breeding in the country of origin and let the breed improve its versatility.
Unfortunately for the breed, there is a lot more money to be made on the show side of things and in most walks of life, including this, money seems to take over.

PLEASE REMEMBER or alternatively DON'T FORGET we are discussing the SHOW GSD on this thread.
The German Shepherd Dog - was founded in Germany
The GSD founders established the Breed Standard
The GSD founders established the GSD Breed Cub = the SV
The GSD founders established Rules & Regulations for their GSD and their Club.
The SV hold responsibility for our breed the GSD within Germany, and have formed the "World Union" WUSV in 1968 to oversee the GSD World -Wide.
The SV hold the German Sieger Show for GSD annually in Germany, also known as the "World Sieger Show"
The German Sieger Show is the LARGEST (numerically) SINGLE BREED SHOW IN THE WORLD. (2,000+)
This huge show, conducted by the SV shows everyone around the World EXACTLY what our SHOW GSD should aim for in their CONFORMATION, MOVEMENT, CHARACTER etc.
The "middle of the road" & The "Alsatianists" & anybody and everybody can see the SV OFFICIAL INTERPRETATION OF OUR GSD BREED STANDARD by visiting the Sieger Show, or buying the official DVD's of the Sieger Show, or by reading reports and looking at photographs of the Sieger Show.
IN AN EFFORT TO EDUCATE AND TO PENETRATE INTO THE BRAINS (hopefully) OF ALL "NICHE GROUPS" such as the Alsatianists & the "middle of the road", I would ask them to view these web-pages and read, study, absorb and fully comprehend, and please learn. The Official (living) interpretation of our breed standard.
German Sieger Show IMPRESSIONS: http://www.videxgsd.com/WORLD_SIEGER_SHOWS.htm
Point of information the FCI officially adopt the SV GSD breed Standard- (I feel sure many do not know what the FCI is) It is the organisation for Kennel Clubs of most countries around the World. (approx. 200)
In Germany the SV help in the facilitation of "DOUBLE HANDLING" read my comment above re "interview with Reinhardt Meyer"
The "roach back" is much more a perceived problem than it actually is. This description "roach back" is in the main the "perception" of ignorant & bigoted minorities, who remember or hanker after the "Alsation" dipped backs that are laughably described as straight.
The posing of our dogs is stance frequently bears little resemblance with the actual dogs conformation. This is an area for examination and possible change.

VIDEX. In an earlier post you said > The requirement of minimal health screening standards <. Can you say what you consider would be the minimal health screening standards please ?.

by Videx on 29 July 2009 - 13:07
I imagine those health screening tests included within the GSD Breed Survey would form the list.
Don't be fooled by the word "minimal" - it should be understood that NEW health screening tests come along quite frequently, however they should be considered for introduction with great care and consideration, especially for our breeds gene pool diversity. For example the SV introduced the Elbow Dysplasia (ED) screening test over a period of 5 years (I think). They made it "voluntary for the first 4 years, then compulsory, and it was then required in the Korung (German Breed Survey) - It would be sheer folly if here in the UK it was decided we could add the ED test in less than 5 years. Currently it is "voluntary" - which means where a dog has an ED score or grade it is included in its Breed Survey, where it hasn't it does not affect its grade. In my opinion this is absolutely correct. Our BC Breed Survey is in its infancy, and it needs time and consideration to become established. I firmly believe the "ACCREDITED GSD SCHEME" offered our breed huge benefits, especially with the Breed Councils GSD Breed Survey at its core.
I am amazed "ACCREDITED GSD SCHEME" may be "absorbed" within the fundamentally flawed "Kennel Club Accredited Breeders Scheme" by agreement with the GSD Partnership, apparently supported by the Breed Council, on the "possibility that the Kennel Club may facilitate some of its ideas, sometime never!
I feel very strongly that much more concrete assurances from the Kennel Club should have most certainly been required for such a significant concession by our GSD Partnership and the GSD Breed Council. "ACQUIESCED" IS THE FIRST WORD THAT COMES TO MIND.

Do you think It might be good to use another word instead of > ACCREDITED < for your scheme because when casually talking to some dog people at club they were all thinking that yours and the kennel club accredited scheme was one in the same scheme ?. I know we know it isn't the same scheme but lots of dog people and especially the public pet puppy buyers don't even know this site exsists to know about your scheme, they only know the kennel club one. Its a shame about that.
