I am concerned about the 13 dogs - but less concerned about them now that they are safe and away from that woman - and if they are in actuality legally  owned by others, probably they will not go back to her.  Lounging in a pound or even euthanasia, if it comes to that, would be better for them than falling back into her clutches.

I am far more concerned about what happens when this lunatic low-life gets out of jail and gets her slap on the wrist.  This will all start again from square 1, with new dogs.  That, to me, is far more concerning than the dogs already rescued and safe, who are now in the public eye and who have the attention of the people on this forum and others who will try to help them.

I felt physically ill yesterday when I saw these posts about Janice and what has happened, again......  Something so many of us here knew would happen again, except now her mother was caught up in being abused also.

Sueincc, so well said:
"There were a few of us who were criticized for not letting up on Janice, but no one was crucified as badly as Sock Puppet was. I'm not going to name names, but suffice it to say, those who blindly stood up for Janice just because they didn't like Sock Puppet need to take a long, hard look at themselves, and they know damn well who they are, as does everyone else who was around at the time. Problem is that like Janice, those people never will admit they screwed up.

I am glad that once again, my friend Sock Puppet has been vindicated on this message board, though I'm sorry it took the abuse of an old woman and some dogs for it to happen. I'm hoping we see more of my buddy, I really miss him."

I remember too many of the posts now to want to go back and read them again,  It's burned in my brain the post about her mother waiting to have her diapers changed.  I was PM'ing somebody here whom I trusted to see if anything could be done.  This has haunted me.  I so hope her mother will be recover in a safe place and have some time to be a person again, not one of Janice's animals she collects and neglects.

I remember that thread back in 2007 when I spoke up against Janice when so many were fawning over her.  It haunts me to this day that I  didn't have enough backbone and allowed Oldschool to slap me down so quickly and so completely.  On the other hand, I doubt it would have made any difference no matter what I said.  The sad truth is there will always be fools who form "opinions" and flap their gums without having any actual knowledge of the situation, and there will always be assholes with their own selfish agendas, who will rise to the defense of the Janice Bartmess's of the world,  for one stupid reason or another.

There are some people who are only alive because it is illegal to kill them... No other reason for it.

You know what  Maggs?  I wasn't going to "name names" but then you have to open your mouth and shove your foot into it.  So you asked for it.  Maggs said:

"Why does "this group" -- you know who you are -- insist on trying to ruin the PDB? Oli has worked very hard to give ALL of us a nice place to gather and talk. This is a damn shame. "

hahaha why, maggs am I not surprised?  This is just another example in a long line of examples that proves exactly what a sick and twisted puppy you are.  The "this group" you refer to are the exact same people who did what they could to get the word out about Janice, despite the best efforts of  nut cases such as yourself who actually DEFENDED the convicted (twice now??) animal abuser.  So what is it exactly that bothers you about this thread maggs, the fact that once more you were dead wrong or the fact that your own words once more come back to haunt you?

Apparently Oli has no problem with the "this group" you continually try to bad mouth.  It must be really frustrating to be you, Maggie, you DID defend Janice on multiple occasions, the fact that you  try to deny it now is just as chicken shit as when  you went back and  tried to erase all your nasty posts about it.  Problem is  you didn't get all of them, did you?  Problem is you can't rewrite history no matter how hard you try to spin it, can you?

"Abuse, whether of children, elders or animals, is a character issue and character very rarely changes after one is an adult (some say after age 10). Let's fact is, we all knew in fourth grade who was going to be most-likely-to-earn-a -death- sentence and who "everyone" thought could grow up to be president. Character does not change. So, I am not surprised to see Barthness in the news again for the same behavior. Abusers did it before the one they were caught at, and they will repeat the behavior down the line...whether they are actually "caught" at, or not."

Exactly, Nia, and this is precisely the point I was trying to make when the conversation was about Michael Vick and some of the same forum members defended him.  These behaviors are innate and these people do not change simply because they got caught.

Keith, as far as some people are concerned, every unutterable puke has the right to express him or herself here with the full support of those who mistakenly supposed that person had "served their time and learned their lesson." It makes it all ok.

......Into infinity. As long as you keep convincing some people that you have the right and that you're ok, you can keep transgressing into infinity. And the best part is that then certain fools will attack as unreasonable anyone who is NOT okay with being repeatedly smacked in the face.
