After 8 pages of dog temp and abilities can we get some more names of good DDR breeders?

 

What about some of the Russian DDR breeders?

 

I find it interesting that some of those who are #1 to crawl down someones throat for not researching or doing enough research when a bad overseas deal happens are Strangely absent when the questions are being asked upfront.

Stormins, I will let you in on my pet peeve when it comes to this particular question and one I have seen repeated every single time anyone asks...
"if you want a dog, blah, blah, blah, you have to know where to look" WTF does that even mean, since you are bothering taking the time to answer this question, why not cut the BS with the "secrets" and tell us where to look, FFS we are asking...
I have come to believe that there is a secret place that the breeders "in the know" go to and find these dogs, everyone else has to "know where to look"...

If you want to find a good DDR breeder first look at the old famous DDR dogs track the lines down by picking mates that are pure DDR bloodline to recent time 2012 onwards or 2011 look for a consistent kennel name, ask around if they are still around but most have started to mix their lines.

That is how i started out look at the pedigrees look for those who consistently produce healthy dogs. Another thing is what makes a good DDR dog in your opinion and look for those dogs that have the qualities that you like.

Btw if im right Stasi is a Russian DDR breeder but to find if he produces good dogs is upto you to do research

Stasi is Belarusian and I bought a dog from him that was not the 100% DDR he promised...

Hindsight is indeed 20/20 which is why I agree with you Hired Dog .... where are these savants with specific recommendations now that we are asking upfront like they told us to?

 

They are only too happy to crawl out of the woodwork and be so "helpful" after you get screwed as if you were the crook for not guessing that you are dealing with a crook....sigh

Strazhe Severa kennels Evegina Shishmakova...does anyone know if she is good to do business with? I know she has gotten some of her DDR dogs from Claudia.

Are you hoping to breed more for type or temperament, and if temperament, what kind of traits are you wanting to produce? As I said in my other post, people would likely have more success in breeding the temperament of the old DDR dog by breeding individuals with those traits rather than strictly from DDR bloodlines because those original traits has been diluted. There are some dogs from West German, Czech, Slovakian, Belgian, etc. lines that are extremely dominant and very aggressive.

apple, which dogs would that be please ?

I don't know the name of the dog, but a well known IPO competitor who was on the US team at the worlds came to our club when I wasn't there. He had a metal heeling stick with many very sharp spikes coming out of it and had to beat the dog with the stick to get him to heel because he was so aggressive and dominant. I have heard of other similar type dogs from reliable, experienced trainers. I am not saying they are common, but they are out there.
