Obviously Cliven Bundy was not a jerk, and he let people go back there to explore. I myself have done a LOT of back country exploring, and noticed in the early 2000's that they closed down all the back roads about a half mile before the destination they used to go to to discourage people from exploring the wilderness. Rather than drive the whole way, you had to get out and walk a considerable distance to scenes such as Swazy's leap, Paul Bunyans Wood Pile, and practically anywhere else you would want to go while out 4 Wheeling.

I just want to say if one is going to protect tortoises, it reminds me of the National Seashore's/DI management of endangerd species of terns. Then, a 4 wheeler would be devasting to a recovery effort, at least during the breeding and hatching season.

I am surprised the handler of the dog did not turn it  loose at that point   but as usual you have to contain your temper as an LEO.

Charges can be brought on the person who did the kicking as a K9 is a Vested Deputy

I do not think this event is gonna come to any  good or  reasonable end, unless some billionaire writes the government in his behalf a check upon some kind of mediation.

I think the Kotch Brothers already paid the million after the BLM killed that dude on a bicycle for crossing the "red line".

Did you really just bring up the tortoises Bee ?!?!  Lol.

I fear that there is a most relevant point and principle in all of this, which may be lost due to one man's ignorance, and the careless and sloppy bravado of others.  I hope not.

K9 is a Vested Deputy

I'm a dog lover through and through, truly. That said, I can promise you that before proven guilty in a court of law, and it's between me and the dog, I will choose me every time. Teeth Smile

Yes, I did! I wore a smokey the bear hat at one time, remember!? My favorite pun/joke back then, was, "One good tern, deserves another!"

LOL

Oh I understand that Carlin, but if the dog was on leash , then the kick was not needed, just back your body  out of the way and remove themselves from the point of contact.. In this case there is WRONG on BOTH sides
