Consolation Noodlin'

The party was a pity.
Though the girl was pretty,
And since geezer couldn't budge
The constitutional fudge
She'd have to settle for gritty.

Bee,
did you think I meant the stock market?
Pork Bellies, Titanium?

No dear, my fault for not keeping this simple so you understood.
Goods bee, a hog maybe but not on paper, in the flesh, just one example and not my first choice.

What would people need, food, clothing, fuel to stay warm, medicines, how about a tent and a sleeping bag, goods my dear, maybe firearms, who knows what, perhaps a tractor trailer load of Campbell soup.
The possibilities are endless, that's what I meant by commodities, I should have said trade goods.
Alcohol, tobacco, firearms...........LOL
If the banks failed what good is the stock market?

Taking money out of country off shore or anywhere else so it can't be seized or impounded, or just so they can't close their doors and lock you out, keep you from it.
Banks do that, our government does that, lawyers and courts do that.
Has nothing to do with taxes.

If I trade you corn for a chicken there is nothing to tax anyway.

If I make you work an hour in my barn cleaning stalls for a #50 bag of rolled oats that's a trade of a service for goods, no tax.

Profit is making you clean out all the stalls for an aspirin, then trading the manure for corn to feed the hogs, then I could trade my hogs for gasoline to fuel my A/C Cobra which I bought with cash that first afternoon.
Yeah I did pay the sales tax on that.

All this just because you don't think Romney wouldn't want to line his pockets simply because he's satisfied that he is rich enough, and has no desire for more, no greed.
Please................everybody always wants more.

Naive about greed and human nature, I don't think so.

Moons.

Waves @ Preston

I'm having problems with my spelling too.....

Moons: Let's just say, you responded exactly as I anticipated. We'll just have to wait for the collapse of society to see who is truly, more self-deluded. Watch out for that mindkontrol, it is everywhere.

I don't know, Moons.  I'm probably deluded, but I have found that people disciplined enough to give 10% of their income to their church, voluntarily, not to mention millions to other charities, have a different relationship to money than you describe.  They seem to think that what they have has been given to them by God, and doing good is their way of paying God back.  Just another way of looking at things, but that was the impression of Mitt Romney that I got.

" I never do understand why people get so worked up one way or the other...It is hard sometimes to realize, you thought you were kindred to the majority and in reality it just is not that way."

Beetree - I think you hit the nail on the head.  This really isn't just about an election.  It is about different world views.  In that sense the bad feelings will not go away.. We are no longer "islands,"   We all have to live with the consequences of the decisions of others.  Many people felt they were fighting for their way of life.  That will probably continue.  I don't think we will live together happily ever after.  The differences are becoming too extreme.
