They have been on raw, since I took them off Mom to get some weight on her, she was skin and bones, and not able to keep up with the pups or her. The problem I am having is, when I went to kibble- Acana, for Beetree, TOO MANY POOPS!!!! AND STINKY!!!!
Most people won't keep on raw, so I usually try to make the transition easier for them. They are getting canned goat milk, egg yolk, greek yogurt, (touch of karo syrup at first, when they were 3-4 weeks old), and raw hamburger, I was going to start them on chix wings this week, since they are able to chew much better. So you think I should use the Nature's variety instead of the real raw??? I will have to do some checking to see where I can find it here, I drive 3 hours one way, just to get my load of Acana...Cities closer do not carry it...
I just hate feeding kibble to puppies, they do so much better and less mess on the raw. They just don't poop as much because they utilize it....Apple cider vinegar is a great idea. Will have to try it.
Thanks again, Steph

They are way too smart, they already know how to use the doggy door, and climbing up cement steps. Yikes, these are going to be handfuls!!!! Be prepared Beetree, they are coming into their own!!!! LOL

Wow!....a litter of puppies without mountains worth of stinky poop?!!! That's unbelievable! OMG I can't wait to raise a litter of pups on pure raw diet then! Last time I had pups I hadn't switched to full raw yet. (cross fingers, hope I have the opportunity to have a litter again next year)
LOL @ that name Shelley
Those blue pups are soooo adorable, such a pretty color. I'm beginning to wish that the standard didn't disqualify the blue and liver colors.

end up looking either very 'washed out', or the opposite can be 'dark'n'mucky'.

They might be pure GSD- some type of Am. pet & show back there? I don't see structure of high quality working or showlines but nothing about their faces screams any other breed in particular. The tailset of the really light pup in the bottom middle pic looks more Pit Bull than GSD, lol, the "pump handle look," which is why I said the structure isn't definitively "working lines" or "show lines" or "BYB lines". I sold a pup to someone who had a black male of American/Canadian pet/show lines and he threw blue puppies. They looked similar to these as puppies but matured out to be pretty typical GSDs as adults- straight backs, finer/medium bone, narrower heads...you could definitely tell they weren't "well bred" but they were nice dogs and healthy, far as I know.

If some of you people keep dissing on my blue dog, I'm going to have to take up Schutzhund with him, and prove once and for all, "No good dog is a bad color!"

Damn, barely had time for a sip of coffee...
