Rocknrolla....you're not even on there that I'm aware of, LOL. I don't know who you are on here though, so I may be wrong.
The fact is it is VERY difficult to get allegations of animal abuse to stick. For someone to be convicted, and so obviously plea bargain it down to a slap on the wrist by pleading guilty, tells volumes. There is no question what went on was horrible. I know another hoarder who someone I know well had firsthand knowledge of, and nothing could be done. With the way the ASPCA/SPCA works, it's a joke. The dogs have to be half dead for them to do a damn thing about it. The fact that this woman is not in prison though SPCA has been to her house many times tells me that what DDR-DSH did was worse than anything I can imagine.
Incidentally, that person I mention is not on here often, but is a member, and also has the same contorted view on people and dogs- thinks everything w/fur and genitals needs to be bred- repeatedly, and actually manipulates people into sending her dogs she hasn't paid for with sad stories. It's sick and it's way more prevalent than anyone thinks!
It's true that people love to gossip and pick apart little things to the point that most breeders don't want anything to do with this site. I look at things a bit differently. While I'm sure there are a ton of people who don't like me and don't agree with me, and they are free to bash me or my dogs anytime they like, they will NEVER be able to accuse me of anything so heinous as this, and as long as people take care of their dogs as they deserve to be treated, I have a pretty laissez-faire attitude toward people. So, I won't hide just in case someone finds something to criticize me for. In fact, I think it would be better if everyone was a bit more open and honest. If they were, people like DDR would stand out more and perhaps more people would've seen her for what she was.
What's the old saying....all it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. That's not the exact quote, but that's the gist of it.
