Steve,
Bart Bellon has won 2 belgian ring nationals with 2 different dogs. I don't think the fact that he is not in active competition means much. He has already proved himself in a sport that is much more difficult than Sch in my opinion.
He probably is not competing anymore because he is to busy making money training other people to get to national level competition.

Hey folks:
It,s obvious that everyone here is passionate in there stance, that being said all the arguing is really lessoning all of the points. How about everyone agree to disagree on this subject and realize we all have different opinions.
I have my own opinion, from a purely "sport" point of view any dog no matter what the breeding could be trained to excel as long as the proper drives are observed, From a "breed" point of view I prefer to see a GSD in my kennel with those proper drives even thought my Axel my have " Mali in the wood pile" hahaha we will never know.
It comes down to, I like to see a good dog work... I just prefer it to be a GSD in my case.

I also like seeing good working dogs no matter what the breed or mix, just like watching a good athlete perform.
Always,
Cee
