Who do you believe?  Who do you like better? Without really knowing these people.......???? AZSHEP6---this is no anonymous person to the breeder......confirmed by the breeder herself.  It is a very sad situation.  The hard, cold fact that I see hitting me right off-----the pup was noticeably compromised right off.  Why was she ever shipped to the buyer in the first place?

The breeder took a chance......the buyer, now emotionaly involved decided to keep taking chances......the breeder now wants to do right......but the buyer has the hard task of dealing with the inevitable---no question.  Very sad, indeed.

These large litters that seem to be so popular....IMO....aren't terribly advantageous for all the pups.

For anyone with questions about me, or my ability to care and work with a breeder, contact VomHoltzberg.  We have a 2 y/o female from Talon and had a wonderful experience with this breeder and the process. Our females name is Kendahl and her picture is posted on their website.

This was my only means to get the breeders attention, and let her know this breeding was a bad choice, and for her to continue to breed the female that may have been the factor in this is irresponsible.

<<VonErzengel puppy with major defects>>

My advice to you is to take pictures of the visible defects for the record and then put this poor dog down. The defects should have been apparent to an experienced breeder at birth. I do not get why the pup got an health certificate to fly out in the first place from the breeders vet. My vet will not give a health cert. even for an ear infection. HD can happen in this breed with the most perfect hip of the parents, but to breed with known hip and elbow defects in the pedigree on purpose is quite troubling to me.

God bless this dear little puppy.

I should add, that Grim is not entirely all that bad. He produced quite nice working dogs. You just want to avoid close line breeding (or line breeding at all) on him, Ben and Klara. These three dogs in one pedigree are a recipe for disaster.

I agree with the last few posts. I wont comment on the breeder or buyer. Not sure what has been said or not said. My issue is...this pup probably shouldn't fly. He has suffered enough and should be given the chance to feel some comfort from his current providers to be PTS. It's not only unfair to the pup but also doesn't make sense to incur more costs to the buyer with another flight. Surely paperwork and pictures can be sent to the breeders showing the extent of the problem with this pup. No need to send him back. Have him PTS or neutered depending on severity. Sounds like he is in pretty bad shape though.

Personally I wouldn't use the bitch for breeding given her background but worse has been done. Genetics are a gamble no matter what OFA or other reports find in a  dog. Sometimes these crazy things happen. Sounds like this pup was doomed from the womb. I truly hope the breeder didn't send this pup out knowing his condition.

I never offered her a puppy back. I wouldn't give this woman another puppy even if that is what she wanted.

You may judge my breeding program and that of Eurosport all you like, but there is only one point:

Day 2 she was offered money back and to fly the pup back, she said "no"

7 additional times she was offered her money back and she said "no"

We have never been able to see the pup other than photos she took of him at the training field.  He looked just fine.

I have done everything in the world for this woman and she says "no".

I want the puppy back because I want him examined to see how much of this is true.  The vet there said he was a dwarf for crying out loud and that he would have to have surgery at 9 weeks to have the testicle descended.  I have the right to examine this pup.  She has continually said no.

Now I have another email that says his elbows are fine, before they were horrible.

She has offered nothing other than obstanance and consistent accusations with nothing to back it up.  I have consistently offered her money back and it was HER option she kept the pup.

Judge away, but the point in court would have been "did the breeder offer you your money back? yes. but I declined 7 times".

I would be interested in seeing the hip and elbow x-rays, could you send them to me?   I've never seen hips bad enough that they were not candidates for total hip replacement.  If you could send them via e-mail to eichenluft@aol.com, that would be great - thanks.

Hey all,

well let's see. The breeder says, the owner of the pup says, hmmmmm. In one of Malinda's posts she stated the pup was sold at a pet price, therefore, undecended testicle should not be in issue, the pup should have been neutered anyway.  As for the other medical issues, if they were noticable by 9 wks, the vet would have never given a health certificate.  Now according to the posts this issue has been going on for at least 6 months. Why in the hell has the owner of this pup taken this long to complain. Why not send this dog back after Day two of being told she will get a full refund. Why keep this puppy any longer if there is so much wrong with it. I do understand what it is to get attached and love a puppy so much it hurts to give it up, however if this person did indeed agree to the terms of a contract, she really has no alternative then to return the pup. Shipping this pup is not an option, Malinda has already agreed to go and physically pick up this pup, no shipping involved on the owners part. I myself would not take another person's word, just because they said so. Do you know how many scam artists there are out there. I do agree with Malinda, she has a right to have this puppy checked by her own vet to verify these issues, ( after all she did this breeding and has to know what went wrong, if indeed it did go wrong). I would not take this vet's word for anything, since from the get go, he told the owner it was not a german shepherd because he had never seen this color before. Truth be told, there really are some vets out there that do not know anything about the german shepherd breed and are idiots. That issue has been addressed on this post before, look up the post involving Carl Morgan and his pup from an unhappy puppy buyer. And some have no problem admitting they know nothing about the breed, those are the honest ones.  I'm not saying that something can't be wrong, what I'm saying is she needs to be allowed to verify these health issues before she returns any money. It is by her choice if she want's to let them keep the pup. I personally would not, but then I think that each situation will have it's own facts, and based on those facts I would make my determination.  This pup is now 8 months old, and everyone is telling her to put it down, well why has this so called loving owner allowed  a loving puppy to go thru all this pain, ( if you love it so) even after offers to return pup for a full refund, just to prove a point, who is the insensitive one now. Any loving responsible dog owner would not want their pup to suffer just to prove a point or even after all the offers, promise to smear the breeders name everywhere they can. We are all suckers for a sad puppy story, but until you have been taken for a ride by the poor innocent puppy buyer it's easy to blame the breeder.

Malinda loves all the pups she has produced, and to say the puppy will be with strangers, is not true, my pup at 10 months still remembers his breeder and my 14 month old pup still remembers his breeder, so she will not be a stanger to him. Stop dragging this on any longer than it already has Von Erzengel and return the puppy so it's breeder can get it to her own vet and verify all the medical conditions he supposedly has, you will get your money and then you can move on and take another breeder on a ride to hell...I know we are all waiting for a caring client like you..

Sorry but that is how I feel.

Debbie
