Two Moons

by Two Moons on 14 October 2013 - 15:10

What's sad,
every time I have tried to engage a representative, all i get's spam in my e-mail and in my mail box,I get generic form letters.
The one time I was actually face to face with Lee Hamilton, I got a twenty two year old aid and a lot of double talk about national interests.
Eventually we got involved but only after genocide had occured and world opinion had shifted, had nothing to do with any moral stand.

I wonder how hard it would be, financially to run for President.

Let's say you had the funds, you'd still be fighting a huge uphill battle.  You'd have to run on an independent ticket, where you'd be inadvertently shunned by large numbers of ignorant voting blocks who lack any understanding of the issues or ideologies; just the way "we like it".  It's a lot "easier" when someone, or something else tells us how to vote, from me-maw and pa-pa to Rush Limbaugh, to the color of ones skin.  People have to want to know what is going on, and stop allowing themselves to be manipulated by Fox, CNN, and MSNBC.

Okay Moons, please forgive me. I realize I drank a whole pot of coffee all by myself! I guess what I read was an editorial in the old fashioned paper version of information media that confusingly, is dated for today. It seemed new to me, and specific, but that was me being occluded in my head with caffeine or something.

I have had a sandwich and am feeling much better, now.

Carlin,
I mean just the basics to qualify and register to run.
Before they spend millions on a campaign.

curious what percentage of US citizens vote typically? if i remember right it is not mandatory?

by beetree on 14 October 2013 - 20:10

Moons, did you know that to even be considered as a Senate candidate in Roman times, one had to be able to afford the office?

Don't you even remember Ross Perot? The inventor of the infomercial? Also, money for Linda McMahon proves it does not overcome all obstacles to gain one's political ambition. There needs to be something else.

vk4, it changes.... the turnout goes way up during a presidential election year. Stats people like GSD might show up to give you a chart or something. Mandatory voting.... lol... what is that?

None of that answers my question.

by beetree on 14 October 2013 - 20:10
