 HI All,
Well The girls home forever, first step out of car absolutely gorgeous and the lick on cheek was a deal sealer what a baby.More to come as I get to know her I've taken 3 vac days, next trip she has is to work for a health check.
JudyK thanks for the insite! I would love to see and hear more about your pups when that wonderful day arrives please keep me posted pictures pictures pictures.
Hexe,12yrs old now diagnosed @ 4 1/2 my boss (vet) researched the treatment we desided on  the easiest 1st,  antibiotics for 2wks,topical ointment (tacrolimus)2bid can drop to 1d wash anal area w/deluted nolvasan  am/ pm but as he ages starting to be less effective ,anti biotics are given when needed monitored every 3 months on venison and rice diet.I"m just glad that we caught it early and it was controlled for as long as it has been.I 'll keep you all up dated w/pics soon to come!Oh my thing is new home new name thanks all.

4mals, I'm so happy for both you and this sweet girl!  (And just a tiny bit jealous, I can't deny it, 'cause I knew she'd be gorgeous! And if she's from the maternal lines I think she is, then I'm more than a tiny bit jealous, I'm VERY jealous, because that bloodline combination cannot help but be phenomenal...<GG>)   Lucky dog, lucky you, happy holidays all around!! :)

I'm glad you had such good success with the tacrolimus/ab's/diet/cleansing protocol for your senior boy...to have gotten him to 12 is itself quite a feat, even without the added complication of PAFs; can you (or have you) added prednisone to the regimen, or is he unable to tolerate it?  It might also be worth switching to a different novel protein diet, say with duck or rabbit, and even change the carb source as well, as it's possible that he's now become somewhat sensitized to the venison and the rice.  If your boss still has it, there's a good article on the efficacy of this treatment protocol in the Aug. 15, 2009 edition of the AVMA Journal...

 Thanks Hexe,
We tried pred but he can't take it long,I'll give the food a change see what happens and try and get the mag. Thanks for the help anything and everything is worth a try for my old fellow .Her reg name is xbox 360 von kilan is this who you know of??  Its a great christmas for both me and the dog she's doing great no accidents yet but she did sh## out a 6in piece of leash or collar thank goodness it came out.

4mals, presuming your boss is a member (since most US vets are), he should be able to get the article off the AVMA website if he didn't keep that edition.  If all else fails, contact me privately and I'll scan the article and email it to you.

No, your girl isn't one of the ones I'd thought she might be (didn't realize that particular female was located in MI--in fact, located about 2 hrs south of me, no less!), so I'm spared being *extremely*, painfully jealous...I can just be normal-jealous, 'cause she is  beautiful, and has a very strong pedigree behind her on the maternal side which also would blend nicely with the sire's lines. Definitely a dog I'd be proud to call my own.  Glad you're renaming her, though...I'd find "Xbox" to be an awkward call name.  Hopefully she doesn't have any additional 'novelty foods' in her system, or at least none that can do her any harm before she passes them.  Looking forward to hearing more about her--she looks like her coat is just so snuggle-worthy and LUSH in her picture!!
