Sir Buddy Jon-Charles was the start of Huggable Bassets
After my son talked me and my wife into letting him get a Basset to take to College. I became intrigued about Basset Hounds. One Saturday we decided to take a trip to see a puppy that was listed on the net for sale. After driven most of the afternoon we pulled into the driveway were the puppy lived. As we came to a stop I saw Buddy and a little girl setting on the front porch. I turned to my wife and said I'm taken him home. As we meet the owners I learned that Buddy wasn't just a regular puppy. He is Champion Bloodline and came from a long line of Champions on both sides. The owner told me that buddy was originally sold. But he found out that the buyer was a puppy mill and stop the sell. He asked me if I new how much he wanted for Buddy. (He was a little pricey). I didn't care, he was the perfect dog.
As we drove home I watched Buddy sleep and I thought about the things that me and Buddy owner talked about. I could not believe that someone would put Buddy in a cage his whole life. Just to sell puppies. As we drove we talked about Buddy's background. I keep a picture in my head of the little girl hugging Buddy on the front porch. A week went by and we found out that our boy would not be able to take the other Basset to college. We decided to go ahead and pickup our boy's puppy and keep it for him.
With 2 Bassets now running through the house. My youngest son has a look on his face of pure happiness. He spins alot of time with them. Every night one of the Bassets clam their spot with him on the sofa. I began to do more research on Basset Hounds. As I read, I learn more and more about Buddy's Championship background.
I lived on some small farms growing up and enjoyed watching the animals being born. Dogs stayed outside and birds stay in. Buddy was the first dog I have ever lived with inside. I grew up with allergies and still have them today. For some reason Bassets have no bad effects on me. We now have 8 Bassets. 7 live in our home and 1 lives with my son & daughter in law. We take a lot of pride in our bassets. They sleep in our home and live in our hearts.
So when someone ask me about Huggable Bassets. I think of my son that was in college, the look on my youngest son's face, and the little girl Hugging Buddy.
Buddy is the heart of Huggable Bassets. He is the best pet you would ever want. Making Basset Puppies, is easy. Making Huggable Bassets started along time ago.
