Dowjac Bassets

Established in 1984 and producer of fine Grand Champions and dozens of Australian champions.

Our lines originate from Burnvale Quintessential - son of the great Bassbarr O'Sullivan, and carefully planned line breeding has een Dowjac Kennels conssistently produce fine examples of Basset Hounds, true to type and fit for purpose.

Recently we have imported two fine Bassets direct from Bassbarr Kennels - hand picked by Bill O'Loughlin for us - to breed back into our line.
Our aim is to re-establish/ re-inforce the traditional Classic UK type of dog from the 1990's - which were such wonderful specimens and big winners.

We have sent many puppies all around Australia and exported to the Phillipines and Hawaii - and are regularly on the lookout for  show homes, particularly overseas.

We have also just added four new puppies to our show team - from the latest of our line breeding program - these are the dogs/ bitched which will be used with our UK imports. We have a pair of males and a pair of females - all wonderfully full of the Dowjac "hallmarks" of lovely bone, great fronts, beautiful heads and immaculate angulation.
