He did seem to know what he was talking about in terms of dogs, but he was such a fast talker about other stuff I really got skittish about the deal. This dog was supposedly going to be used to escort battered women from shelter to shelter in case their psycho exes/abusers showed up.

When we pulled the plug on the whole deal, I was expecting him to get angry, which most people with good intentions would, at the last minute like that. But he never did. He just said "Ok, it's your dog. You can do what you want." That didn't sit right with me either and made me quite sure something was awry. No one takes that in stride unless they know full well they're trying to pull off something that they shouldn't, and don't want to make waves and possibly call more attention to themselves. He probably didn't want to get mad and risk that I might say something about him on here or another forum. He is probably reading this thread right now; I know he combs the ads all the time.
