Dacotah

Hi Blitzen, I plan on showing Fimo and doing ScH. I was thinking about doing ScH with Nik, but then those plans went south when he developed cancer :( I think Fimo's a good all around dog, he's taken VP-3 in a show already, and I'm entering him in a local show next month. Mainly I purchased him as a pet, but wanted a dog from good lines and a reputable breeder after the disaster with Nikolaus. Fimo's got a wonderful personality and is very smart, and I've just sent off prelim hip/elbow xrays to the OFA, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good results!

I give health guarantee 1 so I remain in good standing with the people I sell too. Also I know many who don't cause U do not know what the people do with the dog. I guarantee testicle dropping and hips... www.geocities.com/germanshepfrmmn that is a TENATIVE guarantee/contract of mine when I sell a pup I do not post actually guarantee via web but that gives u an idea. I require spay/neuter or return of dog before contract/health guarantee is honored... Hope I helped Vereinigte

What people do with the dogs is not really a valid reason for not giving a guarantee IMO. Mishandling will have an effect on the temperament, I'd have to agree that no one can guarantee any puppy will get a SCH III without having some control over the way the dog is handled. However, what would handling have to do with a dog's developing bone cancer at only 1 1/2 years of age or severe HD, UAP, allergies, a bad bite, hemophilia, missing teeth, washed out pigmentation, autoimmune diseases, epilepsy, etc.. Sounds like a copout to me. There are plenty of breeders who do offer written contracts, why buy from one who doesn't? The general public is becoming more and more educated about what to expect when buying a dog, so those who refuse to give contracts just might find themselves with a lot of dogs and no buyers.

Vereinigte, I think what you guarantee is reasonable. It sounds like you taylor your guarantees case-by-case to address specific litters or buyers. That's probably a good idea. Thanks for your response.
