Read the ad. Call the owner. We're not involved. Merely posted it to try and help her find a home w/some GSD experience.

craigslist is a horrid place to advertise a dog. May as well just drop it off at a research lab or hand it over to fighting dog rings. That kind of thing makes me SICK! No one is going to tell me that craigslist is a good place for a dog. I cannot believe anyone who cared for their dog would put it there. Why not call a rescue and pay a surrender fee, so you know your dog will be safe.. Some people should never be allowed to own a dog. Hmmmm- if the kid knocked over the dog, would they put the kid on craigslist?????

Marjorie, what possible difference does it make WHERE you advertise?????????????????????? If you advertise on PDB you'll only get nice people? If you take out an expensive, fancy ad on the back of Dog Fancy, are you then not a puppy miller? I don't get that at all. It's how you screen, not where you advertise!

I'd put my dog on CL and choose its owner myself over putting it in the hands of strangers at a "rescue" any day.

I´m with dogz - for a lot of people ( breeders, IPO trainers, show trainers ) it´s common practice to buy and sell.
Not healthy? Sold
Too old? Sold
Not suitable for 300 points? Sold
No VA - rating? Sold
I don´t like it...
The dog in this thread seems to be well cared for - better to find a new home for this female than starting to neglect her - worse things happen daily.

This is the part that I find irritating "We would like a small rehoming fee which would include her 'supplies' : 2 large plastic kennels, food, bowls, bloodline paperwork, food and toys."..., looks like a divorce settlement. In a society where many marriages are not guaranteed to last 4 years...are we not being a tad hypocritical..

Rehoming a dog is better than mistreating it/neglecting it. Owner made a mistake in selecting the dog and is trying to correct it.

Heck, we have breed wardens giving dogs to Tim Helser...and we're worried about someone who has apparently taken good care of the dog finding a home on CL? Seems a bit backwards. Who among us doesn't ever read CL? Are we all bad dog owners? Who's to say they can't/didn't find a wonderful home for that dog with a nice family who happened to be looking on CL that day? Reading CL doesn't make you a criminal, nor does advertising on it. It's a mainstream classified- you have to screen, screen, screen. I saw nothing to indicate that they were going to drop her in the Walmart parking lot if they didn't find a good home soon.
