 Thumbs Up GSD
Quality of home should never be determined by income bracket.
A true breeder of quality will care more about getting the pup into the
right home then what their bank account balance will be at the end of
the sale. Case in point, yourself, did you not take in an very ill senior
male SL that had once been the pride and glory of a couple brokers/breeders?
Once he fell out of favor, medical treatment etc was an inconvenience, in fact,
if memory is correct that very dog faced euthanasia? Used up and tossed
aside like a tissue and a peep show booth. All in the name of fame and $$$

I too, have noticed the language used to sugar coat the realities of the musical chair dogs on this board. It kind of makes me Sick .

Poor dog. I suppose the owners realize they aren't doing right by their dog. Too bad that wasn't something they could change about themselves, instead of the ownership of a beloved pet.

Bee, sometimes the right thing is knowing when to seek a better home
for a dog. Wink Smile

Dogz, um who are you? I am sorry but I have no idea and you do know my dog so kind of wanted to find out. I do have a retired stud/ show dog I took in but to my knowledge he never faced euthanasia or some of the other things mentioned. He has love and  will have anything he needs for the rest of his life. I am greatful to have him and for him to have me. I also finally got a good pup I am having a blast training and learning with, which I have been trying to do for ten years to HOT train a dog start to finish as my goal. The dam owner I purchased him from with no contract has been more supportive than the "top lines" pups I was sold by a breeder that changes dogs as fast as they do their socks who sold the dog to me on contract that was a health nightmare and the second pup who was also a health nightmare. I do not live in a 350,000 but both of those dogs received top of the line medical care and peace/ love/ family for the time each of them were on this earth. Both were part of a family not a money object and both got expensive care, because I love them more than money.

LOL GSD, we discussed your male in a PM many months ago. Wink Smile
What you did for that dog was something no one else did for him in all
his time in the USA, you have given him a home that cares for him because
he is a loyal dog
, not because he was a VA dog or a source of income. Shades Smile

Dogz, I am sorry, I do not recall. It is not surprising and I can only apologise that I do not remember. I tried to refresh my memory by checking my pm boxes though and it must have been erased as I found nothing. I am going through some memory loss and trouble communicating as part of a neurological issue that has been rearing it's ugly head and why I have also not been online much in a long time. I ask that you please be patient with my health problem and not hold it against me :)  I know many become frustrated with my dyslexia and communications becoming increasing difficult to sometimes understand me. My family and I still try to just find hummor in it.

W/dogz,  we know darn well there are some breeders, some of whom
post on here, yes, who could do a lot better than they do.  But since
when do two wrongs make a right ?  No one is awarding point scores
for "most selfish human".

Nobody said it was fine to advertise pups through Craigslist, in fact I
have seen posters specifically query this practice.
I've seen dogs on here (and in 'real' life) who looked well & cared for
but were being used to breed at every season.
We don't know cos the advertiser doesn't bother to say whether the
breeder was approached.  I suspect that had they done so & been
refused we would have heard about that !  And who knows whether
they told the breeder when they got the dog that they'd be having
lengthy absences from home ?
