That isnt the case here if I understand correctly. Since price is the issue I would contact more than one University and see if they would be able to take the dog on a pro bono case. The cost to ship the dog would be far less that the cost of the surgery. Or look to see if there are any companies offering studies on this type of surgery and see if they would sponser the dog and pay for his surgery. And for the person who said that pins and screws cause cancer, if that were the case most of my patients would be dead and Id be out of a job.
Other than training, I run a dog rescue and see horrible cases all the time. Ive made tough gut wrenching decisions over and over regarding dogs and whether they should get the treatment they need, what their outcome will be, and the worst decision we all hate to make putting the dog down. I know this may sound like a cliche, but if its meant to be, your dog will get the surgery with our without our help. I do wish you well though. Too many times Ive had to make the last decision and it never gets any easier.

Kelly has been nothing but honest and up front with me in all my experience with her and we have become friends. She cares deeply about her dogs, what kinds of homes go they go to and I give her kudos for that. I have 3 males here that I could have sold 5X over from this litter, but I have turned homes down. I too do not sell my puppies just because someone has the money. I'm willing to hang on to my puppies to ensure they will eventually get the right home. So is Kelly.
A few years ago, I was in a very similar situation as Kelly. My GSD mix rescue dog needed a $2,500 surgery to spare her of cancer spreading. If it weren't for the help of friends, co-workers and people around me just willing to donate, I would have lost her to cancer 3 years before she passed of old at at 15. I will never forget the help that was given to me and am forever grateful that I got 3 more years with my Gypsy dog. My dogs are my everything...and sometimes we have to choke down our pride to do what we need to do.
Yes, times are tough for us all. There is nothing wrong with asking for a little help. If you don't want to help, or can't help...then don't. I certainly understand the need to ask questions, but I don't understand bashing. A little support and compassion goes a LONG way...and that doesn't always have to come in the form of money.
Kel....you know I love your dogs...you know I support you 100%. Best wishes to you and Brix! Give him a hug for me.

If you want to spread negativity, find one of the other threads, lord knows there are plenty out there.
This thread was posted to bring forth the good hearted people

It's fine if you don't want to donate, that is perfectly OK. There are plenty of kind hearted people that will see Kelly through.
I am all about free speech, I love a good debate, I respect others opinions. However I think there is a fine line between respecable opinions and digging in the mud for things to sling.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL THE OLD REPSECTABLE BREEDERS THAT DONT POST ANY LONGER BECAUSE OF ALL THE CRAP. I KNOW YOU ARE LURKING......
