An eyelash? For cyrin' out loud...you should at least use something a dog won't inhale! LOL! No wonder you can't find it when the dog hits on it. I can just see the dog having a sneezing fit.

LMAO!!! Thats funny Deb you are probably right the dog has the eye lash stuck to it's nose.lol Just wipe it with a white tissue so you can see it.
It is amazing what a dog can find.I can't even imagine what they are able to smell.I havea good nose and catch wind of things that are far away but I can just imagine what more my dogs are smelling that I can't.
Would LOVE to have a dog that has the tracking ability of a Polar Bear!! Those things can smell a seal 3 ft below the solid ice!! Now that is a good sniffer!!!
With my black GSD I had I would take a stick and rub my hands on it (put a nic in it so I knew it was the right one) and throw it in a pile of branches,sticks,twigs,mulch etc and go get him and then have him smell my hand and then say go find it from a distance away.He would go through that whole pile sniffing.He was so determined that there wasn't anyway to call him off unless I went up there and dragged him away.One time I did that cause it was getting dark and I had things to do.The next morning when i let him out he took off!!! I followed him and he went right back to that damn pile where I threw the stick and he found it.He was like a little kid a Christmas with that silly stick. Dar is kinda the same way but He will leave it if I say to but then like the other one will go back to it later.Their memory is pretty good too.
