Vitamin A for "eyes", just ask the bunny rabbit why he likes his carrots!

VomMarischal, organic farming and composting put back the nutrients, unlike the big agribusiness that relies on chemical fertilizers and indiscriminate use of pesticides that deplete the soil and causes less vitamin rich produce.

I think a dog eating occasional table scraps might fill that 40 gr. quota, whereas a kennel dog might have less opportunity to self- supplement. That could be the reason for differing opinions, at least that is my opinion. I have had dogs with a love for raw broccoli, carrots and apples. And this dog of mine, just ate my DH's ham and pineapples of all things that I was saving for his dinner, oops! LOL

Green leafy;  Kale, spinach, dandelion; lettuce as long as it resembles red leaf, green leaf, romaine or butter;  NOT ICE BERG.  Also the cabbages are good, and chards;  RAW is best.

I never ever buy Iceberg. Romaine is highest in nutritional content. I've grown lettuce on raised beds for years, I don't even plant seeds anymore, they just up and sprout and then I move them about where I want them. Most people can't recognize a sprout for what it is, is what I've discovered.

I am adding to dog food in AM feeding;  6 vegi's and lettuces ground up and put on top of kibble only in AM and raw meat for PM feeding;  so far is working very well.  I do not feel I need to add anything else,  also some fruits in AM ground up;  oranges, apples;  blueberries, the mixture smells incredible and fresh,  I ground up enough for a couple of days for 5 dogs;  they get 1/2 cups each dog on top of organic kibble.  Doesn't that sound fresh and wholesome??

I don't know, I've never had a dog with a taste for lettuce, I would leave that one out.

Mine all stand around and wait for me to drop any lettuce when I am making salads;  they absolutely love it;  so don't use lettuce, use leafy greens.

Kales, red chard, green chards, all cabbages (green, red, etc)  anything that you don't recognize in the store they love.  Am still learning but mustard greens (all nutrious and they love them).

thank you to all  who participated & posted a comment.

Is it true that Pakros, Vegas & Geck Nobili produce puppies with soft ears?

Oh yes Beetree, my dogs all go berserk and beg like mad when I'm cutting up broccoli. Fine...I never liked the stump anyway!
