I have been looking up dogs and pedigrees for to long time this evening- researching dogs for my next female selection.
I am wrong. I realized where i went wrong. When I was pulling up info on each dog individually and was pulling from 2 seperate pedigrees.
So a definite open mouth incert foot moment!!!!!!!!!!
told ya it wasnt the 1st time i over looked something!!!! sure want be the last!

Yoshy,
Your doing more than most people by researching and studying pedigrees. Look for the dogs you like and then look to see what they are producing. Don't limit yourself to ddr , czech or west german. I have had them all and have been most happy with my male out of west german working lines. It's not because he is west german it is because of his temperment, working ability and the bond we developed. He is a product of his pedigree. If you make it to the midwest stop at the club and you will see dogs from Czech, Slovak, WG and some mals, dobes and airdales.

Bigstout,
I did breed her to Czech dogs and Czech/West dogs for these PD dogs. I have a DDR female puppy (5 mon) from Steve Lino that is Grafental both sides. I see NO problem in her being able to be titled. DDR dogs are not top sport dogs but if trained correctly should not have problem with being titled. Many get washed out because they are brought to clubs and at 12 months the Czech and West dogs are giving firm bites on young dog sleeves and they may not be biting with committment yet. Then the owner will compare in his mind to the other dogs, and get frustrated, the helper may not like not making progress and start telling the owner he is shitter, and they retire the dog or get a west or Czech dog. That same dog could have been titled if they just waited until other drives kicked in. Seen this happen before. JMO

B,
Everything is on a dog by dog basis.
Im actually researching 5 new / planned litters. Breaking down video of each sire and dam of all 5 litters. etc.....
3 of the studs I know- 2 I dont, so just trying to familiarize myself with them and the dams. So needless to say
Ive been stairing at pedigrees and progeny for a few hours now. I make every attempt at being thorough. Plus I
trust the man i will be purchasing from if i choose too.
Always good to meet more dogs across the board. Where exactly in the midwest?

Yoshy check out the puppy posting on Feb 9 top working litter. That is a breeding I like. The mother was 11 th in the BSP out of 125 dogs. She was a LGA winner and BSP competitor all by 3 years of age. That says a lot about a female. She is bred to a BSP male. Also she is in the US.
