Shelley, your sister's website is great. She has spectacular design sense. That is the direction I am going in, but I'll never get there, I am working with the stuff I have and paint and anything I can find cheap.
There better be some sunshine around here soon!
Glad to hear that Portia is OK. She is a real sweety.
Well, I have a medicine cabinet calling me ....for some more PAINT! Ugh

Too bad we don't live closer. I like to paint.

My kids think it is funny because lately when deciding on makeover decorating decisions, my theme as been, "When in doubt, paint it brown". I now have brown banisters, door bell cover, and the same brown coffee table. Which matches the walnut bookcases and goes nice with the taupe walls. That's on the manly side of the space, the "media area", (it isn't really a room, I have an open floor plan, more or less.) That man cave kind of thing. Accents of the blue and gold. The dog likes it, he chewed a hole in the bean bag, Pottery Barn lounge furniture, already. I knew I was taking a risk with that choice!

I just realized after I posted, you probably aren't interested in decorating "man cave" dilemma's, at this point, oops!

For man-cave, read dog cave. LOL
Most of my dogs are neutral about decorating styles as far as I can tell. T is only concerned about the comfort rating of the bed and the sofa. Apparently he is very satisfied with what he found here, if the snoring head next to my butt is any indication.
But Xena the Chee doesn't think a house is a home until the floors and furniture are decorated with shredded paper products and toy stuffing. Portia is recovering nicely thus far, normal temp and good appetite. BTW- Portia is fine with Xena, but I limit their interaction to closly supervised, toy-free relaxation so far. Fortunately Portia is not interested in facial tissue, toilet paper, you get the picture.
The coffee maker and the Starbucks coffee Michele brought are awesome. I used the m/wave last night too. Next time I get to town I'll check out the thrift stores for a few pots and pans, maybe some tupperware. There are bound to be some yard sales coming up soon too. This place is perfect for house plants with all the light in the living room. I have a bare wall just perfect for a 50" HDTV. Next time I find two bucks in change in the laundry I'll buy a lotto scratcher. Ha ha ha ha ha ha
The training field is still a little beat up after the trial in the rain and wet, so we are staying off it for the most part till it has a chance to heal. We're hoping this is the last day of clouds and rain for awhile. Poor Gary. He works really hard on that field to keep it beautiful. Imagine a grounds-keeper watching a herd of horses run across his putting green in the rain...
My dogs are doing great. The dogs love their nice big covered runs. They haven't been sick since we left PA except the one day on the road when I had to feed them half their dinner of something different because there was no place to get TOTW where we were and I was nearly out.
Back to the job search. Desperate for work, I am customizing my resume for every submission. Its time consuming, but time is one thing I do have right now. ;-)

Much better with the furniture re-arranged and the carpet cleaner. Little by little. Amazing how much better the view is when you wash the windows too!
Training tonight. Yippee!!!
