Aaaahhhhhhh.....Come on. Let the itty, bitty, little baby be part of the family, too.  Alone---outside---lonely.  Aaahhhhh.  I know you can make a success of her training, Rugers. (lol).  Pretty please......

by VomMarischal on 18 March 2010 - 16:03

Yeah right, keep the tiny puppy outside where you can't even smell its breath? Can't see THAT lasting long!

Well the problem is that she is 2 yrs old, and I do not want to cause any issues.... I wish I was getting a puppy, but I LOOOOOVE her pedigree.

by VomMarischal on 18 March 2010 - 16:03

AAAAH. I see, a new adult. Well, the other one's a boy. They'll be great friends in short order.

I USED TO PUT DINKIE OUTSIDE IN HIS RUN AND GET THE DISWASHER AT KFC TO PUT TRASH BAGS OVER HIS HEAD AND MAKE RUNS AT HIM AND YELL AND THREATEN IN A DEEP VOICE. THEN INSIDE WHEN STINKY WAS STILL LIVING WITH US THE DISHWASHER WOULD PUT ON THIS BIG HIDEOUS MASK WE HAVE AND A BIG COAT. I HOLD DINK ON THE COUCH AND THE DISHWASHER STARTS BANGING ON THE DOOR AND TALKING LOUD IN A DEEP VOICE. HE THEN THROWS THE DOOR OPEN AND ACTS LIKE HE IS ROUGHING UP DINKIE. USED TO DO THIS ALL THE TIME. NOW WHEN DINKIE IS HOME AND THERE IS A KNOCK ON THE DOOR HE GOES CRAZY. HE BARKS LOUD AND KEEPS JUMPING AT THE DOOR. OUTSIDE HE ACTS THE SAME TO PROTECT HIS YARD OR KENNEL.  DO YOU KNOW ANY DISHWASHERS?

Hhhhmmmmmm....Big, strong, adult female..whose never known the comfort and companionship that living in a house provides.... understand your concerns, but---Aaahhhhhhhh......All you can do is try. (lol) I have faith in you.

I did not hit that "Report Abusive". (lol)

by 1doggie2 on 18 March 2010 - 16:03

Any takers on how long before she is living in the home, 3 days.

by VomMarischal on 18 March 2010 - 17:03

We can ALL hit the "Report Abusive" button until she concedes....HAHAHAHAHA

Ruger,
I believe not raising the new pup inside with you and your family including your adult dog would be a mistake.
Especially if you desire the protection that comes naturally from a strong social bond.
Outside is fine later but I start with the crate indoors first, tons of bonding with everyone including your other dog.
I would not raise a GSD any other way.

Moons.
