THANK YOU! What wonderful TEAM WORK!
I get where your partner was coming from, not wanting the dog directed at him. TO funny!

Great job, Jim and Boomer. Excellent work!

It's hard tracking in the rain and across pavement especially if it's windy too, very hard work for the dog. Scent pools and disperses in unexpected places in those conditions. Boomer's obviously got fantastic drive and Jim is an excellent trainer and handler. It's good to know K-9 teams like you two are out there.

Thanks again everybody, I had such a good day and was really proud of my dog I wanted to tell some people.

RS and Renee, it's not about me it's about Boomer and your going to embarrass me.

Shelley,
My buddy had a good reason to be nervous when we were covering down on the window,  He reached in and pulled the curtain down and Boomer was all business.  He was positioned next to my right shoulder and Boomer was in a platz on my left side.  I was holding Boomer by the collar with my left hand and covering the bedroom with my gun in my right hand.  I guess Boomer could tell the guys were in the next room and really wanted a piece of them.  I told my buddy that I was more concerned about Boomer biting me than him, if he got bit it wouldn't hurt me at all.  Besides the track it was nice that Boomer was so amped up and ready to go, but still in control and clear headed.  There is no doubt that if I sent him into that apartment he would have done some damage.  The only thing that stopped me was the woman inside, I didn't want her getting bit,

Jody,
I heard all the pups are gone, they sure were cute in the pictures.  I'll email you and Debbie all the details of Boomer's recent apprehensions.  He should be narcotics certified in the next month or so.  He's doing great with the dope work, except he tends to eat peoples cars when he finds dope. He gives new meaning to aggressive alert.   He's already had several dope finds on the street, he's going to be a really good dual purpose dog.

Thanks everybody,

Jim

Congratulations Jim and Boomer. And I second the motion - aside from being  an excellent police officer and K9 handler, you're also a very good writer (that's Jim not Boomer  :-)
So yes, hoping to see an article from you in  a magazine in the future and why not a book - after Boomer's career is over! Better keep a diary.
