Excuse me but Ivan and Mike did not start training dogs at the same time. Mike was loading food shelves at Petco when Ivan was winning championships.
I had never heard of Bart Bellon before this, and I watched the videos. He is awesome and his dog is incredible. I'd love to have a dog like that. The guy is great, now I have to get him here for a seminar and some training. Thanks for posting the videos and this thread.
Jim
What's your deal against Mike Ellis? WHo cares if he was picking his ass when IVan was winning championships. They guy is a great communicator and has trained a few high level dogs that are competing now. WTF is the deal? really I'd like to know. They're both great trainers and both are well liked by lots of people.
and I would like to see Bart Bellon sometime. From the little i've seen, it looks like he knows what he's doing as well.
Ivan is one of the most respected World Wide, Ellis seems to be okay a helper more than a competitive trainer , but very good it seems. Ivan is world class just look at his results....Also a decent breeder produces some nice dogs...Bart Ballon is a good one as well just watcing his videos he appears to be good with electric. Thats an art in itself.....all apear good but Ivan takes competition to another level
I think that sums it up. Let's not confuse effort with accomplishment, in a word? Overrated.
and what's your point? No accomplishment? I bet a few handlers of some pretty top dogs in this country would heap tons of praise on Ellis for all of his help and accomplishment in training and in some cases also breeding their awesome dogs. So, what's your beef? He gets more attention than you? Grow up
Its really doesn't matter where people start its what they become,That Mike is awesome!! the right physical type and everything

can someone tell me how to embed a video in the post?? I don't see the icon??
Phil we meet again, I remember Ivan well, when he had Nikita, and he was
working at guide dogs for the blind. He was knowledgeable about ring sport
but was trying his hand at the USA trials. At the same time Bart was conducting
clinics in the Bay Area. Mike had some very good ring sport dogs at the same time
as I recall. The one person I think you might talk to is Glenn Salimanca. Thats not how
he spells his name, but I think you my know of him. He was there at the same
time both of them were taking off. And he is a big fan of Bart . I personally
like both of them but I stand by my statement as well. Where is all this anger
coming from?
Don't really care about attention. I do my deal with the dogs because I enjoy it,,,,,,,,,for myself. Proof is on the field. Name me these "top" competitors, a good "L" litter granted in some talented hands but that has passed. In fact in one case, dog was retired/sold because he couldn't track. Now doing FR. I don't really consider Mondio a viable sport so make all of the comparisons you want, they will fall on deaf ears. You will find that your top Mondio people do well with the help of Fernando Dosta, someone who has accomplished much as a FR/Mondio decoy. Continuing to breed dogs that produce bad hips, knowing they produce bad hips, will gain no respect from me. My opinion means nothing to a lot of people besides myself, but it is still my opinion and I am entitled to it just as you are. I'm a firm believer that in order to teach something at a high level, you have to have been there yourself,,,,,he hasn't. Check the scores.
