Jenni78

$14,000 for two isn't bad...if the sellers didn't know there was anything wrong with them.

I was only able to buy my import because she was unproven- I put a deposit on her when she was 18mos, had her Koer'd, titled, got her show rating, etc. Had they realized how nice she was and had she been proven, no way would she have been available, but it was a gamble I was willing to take. She was good enough at Sch. I figured I could sell her as a sport dog if she wasn't breedable.

Had 9 gorgeous pups after one tie.

You get lucky sometimes.

Steph, I totally agree. I'm not sure how I feel about a LOT of this orchestrated stuff- I would go so far as to say if a bitch repeatedly won't stand for a certain stud, or a usually aggressive stud isn't really interested, we shouldn't force the issue. If we let nature take its course a bit more, I KNOW you would have fewer dogs in rescue. I will stop now before I piss someone off....but suffice to say I don't agree with a lot we as humans do in terms of breeding either.

Speaking of useless bitches.. I may have actually found a use for one of these two strictured bitches. One is also a nervous wreck about noise like lawnmowers, fireworks, lightning. German import bitch, by the way.. Well, she starts to act crazy and wants to go over the fence whenever she hears these things. There is absolutely NO lawn equipment in the neighborhood, no fireworks, sunny weather right now, and she's doing her thing, bouncing up and down at the fence with a glassy look in her eyes. With all of the stuff going on with earthquakes, lately, what do you want to bet that we're going to have one, soon? I'm in S. Calif. and I happen to know that a certain big fault (initials I N) runs right past here, about 1/2 mile away. Wait and see, friends, wait and see..

I have a fine time pissing people off about dogs, Steph, but when I cross over into human ethical considerations fur starts flying, so to speak. LOL. Since this is a dog board, I'll keep my DARWINIAN opinions to myself. ;-)

I can empathize its very disappointing   next time pull progesterone and plan an AI preferably transcervical Strictures are usually not a problem durung whelping its really more of an anatomical issue as oppsed to genetic or at least not genetic enough to cull dogs from breeding programs albeit its a pain, the ones I had were from bitches who didn;t have it,Just try to forget the whole situation happened don't torture yourself by thinking about it

by VomMarischal on 11 March 2010 - 20:03

Kimmelot, no, she does NOT lift her leg to pee. She is an ordinary, normal-hormone, very DOMINANT bitch. Who will DOMINATE males if allowed.

This all applies to humans too.  The parents of children conceived through artificial methods should be aware that in doing so, they are potentially passing on their reproductive problems to their kids.
