Can't say I've watch either Pit Boss or the other one. These Rescue guys are in LI, so I feel like they are neighbors, sort of...
And Tarek, they are a private entity and took on this mission with no government type of authority. The cops know them and of their ideals and as long as they don't break laws they can proceed with their mission to help the abused and abandoned, injured or harassed animals. I do like the idea evident in the contrast of these tough guys giving a voice to the meek and defenseless.

The most bad-ass people I've ever known are all dead.

My point was around here you don't just drive up some old boys gravel road and get out of the car telling him you want to see anything.
You would not receive a warm welcome, and you might even get run off at gun point, your car could sustain damage.
I warned off someone just a day ago with a shot from a 30-30, a low life thief scoping things out. I can shoot my guns anytime I like, day or night. It's that kind of country here. I've had the law called on me many times, they give me the speech and leave.
These people were once moonshiners, before the pot fields and the meth labs.
There is no shortage of thieves either.
A tight little community where everyone is someone else's cousin. Some times you can't make it back to the highway road without passing several cousins.
The Sheriff is someones cousin.
Sometimes things happen.
I could show the the same kinds of small country communities across the river in Kentucky.
People have been known to disappear, there's plenty of stories, recent stories, not folk lore.
You drive into the wrong area of any major city, a place where you do not belong, get out spouting off some shit and see what can happen.
Luckily in a major city you have abundant law enforcement, out in the sticks you don't.
Around here response time even with the state police is twenty minutes at best.
I could easily get you lost on some of these back roads.
I'm gonna be 57 and I still know plenty of real serious people who are not dead yet.
Good people, just serious.
Bad Ass is not really the correct term.
Moons.
