Is Bakersfield the place with the World's Largest Thermometer? When I bought my first new car since my divorce, my kids & I were so excited we actually drove to see the dang thermometer all the way from Las Vegas, where we lived....oops, I think it's just Baker, Ca????

Any way, feel better, & good luck with the coming pups....send me back a bottle of Sunshine, OK? God speed & God Bless, Shelley! jackie harris

I think you are right Steve, my rough figuring says she's got 10 hrs of driving (not counting stops!) I think that would be too much to do in one day, for her (or me!) So, that leaves the chances of getting home on Saturday pretty slim. Too bad you couldn't be there with a Michelin Three star feast waiting for her. Hmmm, do you think you could beat Gordon Ramsey in an Iron Chef contest? I read what you made for dinner during the Holidays, and it sure did sound yummy!

Leaving Flagstaff in a few. 683 miles to go.
The scenery IS beautiful... till it gets dark and I can't see well enough to drive safely. Dogs doing fine, playful, eating the bottoms out of the dishes. Its 16F here this a.m. I don't know if I can make it all the way to Modesto by tonight, but I'm going to try. The long exercise periods for the dogs play hell with the travel time. Still, every miles this side of the continental divide takes seems to take a few days of age off my life. Its warm during the day!

I haven't had time, and only sporatic internet time, to read all the ugly stuff. Frankly, from what I hear from so many of yoiu who kindly call me as I drive, I don't want to read a lot of it.

Job One is getting home, getting working, getting my dogs on the trial and show fields, and building a new and better life so I can help other people and dogs again.

Thanks for the kind wishes. Lets just ignore the rest, ok?
;-)

Agreed!

Best of luck to you.   Not much longer now.  LOL, for the first few days you'll probably still feel, when lying in bed, as though you are still rumbling down the road...

Thinking positive thoughts for a trouble-free last leg.

"Frankly, from what I hear from so many of yoiu who kindly call me as I drive, I don't want to read a lot of it."

Probably not, and now isn't the time to deal with it anyway.

But once you are settled you might want to look further into the matter, as it was entirely precipitated by someone claiming to speak for you, with your approval, making an unprovoked personal attack upon your host for the past several months.

Good luck on your final leg.

Don Dildo
Having read the posts by Molly and having heard from Shelley also one thing i can say that whatever Molly has said went about and whatever Shelley says what happened then who are we to take sides with ethier Lady as to which is the correct version
It is not up to the members of this board to really know what went on unless both parties put the versions on here for really it is none of our business and i really hope they do not and can settle it privately between them
For me i have read Mollies posts and i know a bit of the other side which is not for me to divulge plus it is not again for me to be judge of who is right or wrong as it is not my business too,
I hope it dies out as it is not no good for ethier Girls
Things happen and there are factors which make things happen the way they do, It was a pity anything was bought up in the first place, Whatever happened at Mollies it did Shelley a good turn when she needed it, and to that end has helped her to get where she wants to be, For me that is all that counts nothing else, When she reaches home then i think everyone will be very happy for her

DD, I wish you had stopped at, "...now isn't the time to deal with it anyway", because I do agree.  You ruined it for me with your next sentence because all I got from it was an artful bit of passive-aggressive prose.

Hope you have a good pair of shades for that California sunshine Shelley, wishing for a swift and safe last leg of your trip.
