I understand about your less postings. I am also relieved to hear that all is well with you there.
Frisco is wonderful. He is high energy in a great way and has taught me so much. Heidi did a remarkable job with him.
I have not bred him yet. I am hoping to find a compatible Sch1 bitch. Any suggestions?
Is your avatar a picture of one of your puppies? Do you have a litter available now?

My apology to germlover (would like to know the meaning behind that handle!) for hijacking this thread.

DON'T PANIC BUT IF SHE DOESN'T DO SOMETHING AFTER THE TIME PERIOD GOES TO 2 DAYS PAST THE VET
WILL NEED TO INDUCE...
MY EXPERIENCE ONCE WITH MY SABLE BITCH WAS A DEAD PUP WAS IN THE WAY OF THE OTHERS MAKING EXIT...HAD TO DO A C SECTION ON HER....NEVER ANOTHER PROBLEM SINCE..THAT WAS 9 YEARS AGO.
BUT VET KNEW IF SHE WENT OVER SO MANY HOURS AND SHE DID START HER CONTRACTIONS...YOUR GIRL SHOULD START CONTRACTIONS SOON....THEN WATCH IF NO PUPS IN THREE HOURS CONTACT VET TO TAKE HER IN ....HE WILL THEN ASSESS .......
DO NOT PANIC..MY VET...SAID TO ME......ALL YOU WOMEN GET ALL UP TIGHT...HIS WIFE IS A NURSE AND SHE DOES ALSO....HE SAID.......LET NATURE WORK....THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ROSIE....BUT SHE DID GO TWO DAYS PST THE NORM.... SURE ENOUGH ......SHE WAS FINE BUT VET DID CHECK HER FOR ME.....HER DISCHARGE WAS CLEAR AND NO PROBLEMS......LET NATURE WORK....BUT BE VIGILANT.....

As per Davren's comment:
the wide span can lead to different gestational ages in the offspring. It might not be too big a deal with GSD (and other large breeds). In small breeds it can make a big difference in viability.
It can lead to issues in GSDs as well. The "over-ripe" puppies can have placental detatchment while in utero which causes death of the pup; or the ones from the later breeding can be born premature. A few days doesn't make much difference, but a week or more can lead to loss of pups due to too great a difference in developemental points when the female goes into labor.
