TASHA! You cannot confront an English prof with numbers like that! Actually, I clipped exactly 40 nails: ten times four (front feet). Please check my math. Oh, and Grandma helped. The puppies screamed bloody murder so I put Mom outside; Grandma came in and cleaned everybody's bum while I worked, which made them calm down considerably!

I've had litters of 11, 12 & 13. I didn't use anything on the bitches' nipples or rotate puppies, but clipping nails and good nutrician are the highest priority. I did supplement with Osteo-Form, a Cal/Phos/Vitamin tablet, after the first large litter when the puppies were literally sucking the life out of their mother.

I didn't want to resurface that huge thread about the puppies, but I did want to post a new photo. So here they are this morning, and their eyes are just tiny slits. Two weeks old tomorrow. Bella is struggling to keep up, eating about 5 full meals per day, but is coping! Luckily for me, they are all spoken for, even the little runt. Final count has stayed at 10.

WOW;  what little chunks;  they really are shiney and pretty looking.  Hope all goes well with her keeping up;  if not; you can give them some milk and baby rice to help her out.  (Goats milk is best).  I am sure you know all that;  but when yo have a new little like that sleep is precious and not enough of it.  I think I used to go brain dead.  I really felt I needed the help and reassurance and reminders from friends with clear heads.  Enjoy, times flies by.  Nan

Thanks!!

Oh yes, my house is utterly trashed and I'm beat, not only from the puppies but the pneumonia. Luckily my friend came and spent a couple nights and helped out at the worst time. I'm rapidly recuperating just in time for the little monsters to begin attacking me! So far any attempts to feed the puppies anything besides Mama have failed, so I'm just stuffing her with the best food possible. Oddly, she is turning yogurt down. Will mix it with burger next time.

What flavor yoguart  Maybe she wants vanilla.  Gee's.  Well they sure look good and I am sure they will start looking for something else except mama's milk soon enough;  as long as mama can keep up their weights look good from here.  Get some sleep and good luck.  Nan

Yeah, silly me, I thought she'd prefer plain organic stuff!
