"I am rather confused. What is the passing score for you to be awarded SchH 1, 2 , or 3.
I thought it was 270"
Nope, 210. You must get a minimum of 70 in each phase; however, to advance to a higher title, you must have a minimum score of 80 in C (Protection).
You might be thinking of qualifying for championship teams like USA WUSV - you need to get a 270 (2 of them, I think) in order to qualify for that.

One only needs one score of 270 or better in a USA trial and regional participation to qualify for the National Championship.
What, specifically, was the problem with the tracking? Some of those tracking scores do seem to "squeal" a bit. Some are frankly stunning, considering the competitor(s).

Eisenberg was on another web site carring on about this regionals... I thought that lug quit USA??? I wish that ass would get hit by the door as it leaves!!!

And so...how many of you criticizers are actually trialing your dog? Handlers/Dogs fail trials....at least they participated! Those tracking scores are whew...troublesome:-)

Dont judge any scores unless you have seen the conditions for yourself. The weather was miserable starting days before turning everything into a mudd hole. Here is a pic, credit to C.Thompson. Everything was wet and muddy. And No, I cannot comment on the OPs statement as I did not witness this.

Keith, North Beach Schutzhund Club got the Regionals for 2011.
Arthur announced he is stepping down next year so anyone interested should step UP!
Judron,
I support your support of those trialing, however, the competition was BAD. The quality of training demonstrated at this "championship" was just plain below average... when Schutzhund I dogs can't pass the obedience phase, with all the grace in the world coming from the wonderful OB judge (Mike Hamilton) it's beyond sad. The "event" was no different than a club trial. No vendors, nothing "special" like a regional championship should be (imo) - a COMPETITOR drove the judge around all weekend, no one from the host club ever called Mike on Saturday morning to see if he had a ride to the field.
It was poorly run, and frankly, I thought rather embarassing for the SE Region. I agree that Craig Groh's attitude was VERY bad, however, given what I saw, I don't know if it was coming from how he may have been treated or if he just really has a bad attitude.
And to answer your question, yes, I am getting my dog ready for competition. :)

1 more thing, yes, the conditions on the trial field were terrible., but you can't blame the club for the weather. HOWEVER, I do think that club has hosted many events, and has been at that field for a very long time, they know how their field handles rain. It was a regional championship and (again IMO) has NO business being held on a club field - it should have been in a stadium.
Martin Gnyp voiced this very, uh, enthusiastically at the regional meeting, and since his club is hosting next year, here's hoping he follows through and gets the quality of the SE Regional Championships back up to snuff.

I,m curious? why do so many people think a regionals should be held in a stadium? I,ve been to many here in the midwest and havent been in a stadium yet all were great venues and I can understand from the stand point of bad weather but you can,t control that.

Years ago, before so much bad publicity regarding dog-bites and the increasingly more litigious society, championships were "always" in stadiums. But, who "owns" the stadiums? Usually a school district and many of those are prohibited by their insurance carriers to allow dog events on the grounds, period. Others are owned by a municipality, who also has an insurer seeking to reduce the risk of a claim. So, stadiums are in shorter supply than before.
In my area, there are very, very few stadiums still available and a couple of those are prohibitably expensive. /ost of our regionals are on a club field. (Although this year's championship is scheduled to be in one of the few available stadiums in the area) The weather conditions are not in the club's control. Although, I must say, those conditions are similar to what we train and trial in in the PNW fairly often. NOT that we like it, or that is doesn't cause problems. :-)
