 Davren,

A photo won't help as much as a name assigned by a biopsy. And like Tracker says, the cat will do just fine. And yes, you haev to take all of the leg.

You will have to remember he cannot defend himself, get away from predators etc., so I think I would keep him indoors (if you even let him out now). Where I live, I could never allow a cat outside or he/she would be falcon, coyote, or car bait.

Let me know if you get the name of the tumor.

Davren,

I had a half bengal cat, that unfortunately loved the outside and was struck and killed by a car. I cried my eyes out, I loved that cat. She had those cool spotted like markings, but had medium long hair, just gorgeous. They are not like normal cats! When we took her to the vet to be spayed, and the surgery was done, they called me up and said, "You got to come now and get your cat.", and then the receptionist held up the phone. All I could hear were the unmistakeable yowlings of Lola in near sonic boom-like decibals. They couldn't wait for me to get there, LOL

I do know how much they want outside, and my house is just too close to the road for most cats to handle. My current cat 10 y.o., seems to understand how to co-exist with the road, and it is only some cats who figure it out. I worry when this cat goes, because to get a new cat is like giving it a death sentence, due to the uncooperativeness of my family members who always seem to let the cat out, no matter what I say.

Interesting to note, this cat had also developed a bump at the vaccination site which we were keeping tabs on.

Sending you my best wishes for your daughter's cat to get well.

 Beetree,

Thank you for the support and for sharing your story about your cat.

Ricco has always been an indoor/outdoor cat. He started out living on a farm and would go outside at times. My daughter then moved to the suburbs to attend school. She attempted keeping Ricco inside 24/7 and it made life for all of them chaotic! Ricco would cry, like you mentioned in those high pitched cries-non stop. Then he started peeing on my daughter's clothes. They put a cat door in a window and all of the misery ended. Ricco now goes outside for short periods of time; he remains in the back yard where he lays in the sun, chases bugs, and goes potty in a sand pit. It has worked out for them.

He goes to the vet on Monday. They are taking him to a different vet this time. Maybe this one will offer more options for treatment. I will be sure to get the name of the tumor then, if my daughter is unable to obtain it for me prior to then.

thanks again very much to everyone for the support and encouragement. It means so much.

 Ulli  !!

So good to **see** you. Frisco is doing great. He has truly found a place in our hearts and helped me recover from the loss of Cisco. I am still waiting/looking for a female that suits him for breeding. I am not sure about the one I emailed you about in Germany. I have not heard anything new and have not been asked for money yet.

Thank you for the kind words about my daughter's cat, Ricco. We will know more on Monday.

Take care and hope to hear from you again soon.

 GSDtravels,

Thanks for asking about Ricco.

My daughter took him to our older, country vet instead of the one she had been going to in the city.

He performed an excision of the tumor and said, "It would be ridiculous to amputate this cat's leg!"

He charged us $88.75. The last two excisions were pretty close to $500 each time.

Crazy, huh?

Davren- glad that your daughters cat will be ok.  Great pictures.I had a few cats that loved the water and would sit in the sink.I could turn on the water and they would just watch it roll down their side. They are good humor and are quite the characters
