99% of the "trash talk" is on this side (Gen Topic) of the Forum. There is still "tons" of information on this Board. Sometimes I just do a "Search Messageboard" on a particular topic that interests me and numerous posts will come up on the subject. Plus, why don't you start you own Thread on something of interest to you ?

WiscTiger is talking about the old days on this board. Back before it was even pedigreedatabase.com. I used to spend hours just reading this board too. Every topic, just because they were WORTH reading. I always learned something here. Now, that's rare. This place is just entertainment when there's nothing else to do. And you can see I don't post much so that's not often. And I do keep up with a few people through this board.
There used to be quite a few very knowledgable people that posted here all the time.
Anything you wanted to know about a particular dog or line, temperament, training problem, pedigrees, what clicked, what didn't, breed who to who, genetic, colors, I could keep right on going.
Most of those people don't post here anymore. They left because of the constant foolishness on here, the bickering, sniping and flaming. It's a real shame. The pedigree section was great, but the board was just as great for research. And it is sad.
Why would a breeder who's been working hard developing a line and producing some really nice dogs want to come on here and have some jerk that knows nothing about the breed or what a good dog really is trash his dogs and kennel?
Why post a serious question on training here and have to wade through two dozen posts from well meaning people that, well honestly, just don't have a clue to try and find one good answer?
Why ask a question here about breeding a particular line when you'll get 50 opinions from people who are just repeating what they've heard from their neighbor's brother's friend's trainer at Petsmart and don't know anything at all about the dogs?
Why come on here and try and help a newbie when some jerk just runs you in the ground for it?
And why bother to post at all on here when almost every single thread gets hijacked and turns into a free for all festival of personal side gripes and just plain old stupid garbage between just the same old few members.

And don't cry forever because the nature of the beast is to evolve. The search function on this site is great. The country club feel is a fleeting memory perhaps, one to cherish, but too many people now know the path to the door. That won't change, let's face it.

Nothing has really changed too much. Politics has always been here, the trolls aren't new, just more prolific I think and it's not as bad as it used to be. The really bad things usually get deleted quickly. It's always been an open unmoderated board and I really do like that. There is a lot more general talk, puppy updates, people updates. Folks are less faceless now.
I'm not complaining, just comparing.
