consume excessive water - Page 2

Hi All;

I have received the urine & medical reports from the vet.

According to the vet, the urine is dilute & contains slight traces of protein. He, however, said not to be alarmed as sperms may accidentally got mixed with the urine. His glucose level is ok, hence, ruled out  diabetes. The vet mentioned that the urine should be concentrated. The reason for the dilution probably has to do with large amount of water consumed.

At the time of writing, his intake of water has reduced which I hope is a good sign.  However, there are a few areas of concerns that were flaged in the blood test (reproduced below) which may suggest a slight renal problem.

Renal Function

Urea 10.4 mmol/L   (3.6 - 8.9)
Creatinine 203 mmol/L (60 - 150)
Calcium 2.86 mmol/L (2.10 - 2.80)
Corrected Calcium 2.94 mmol/L (2.10 -2.80)
Phosphate 2.27 mmol/L (0.87 - 2.10)

Liver Function

Total Protein 88 g/L (54 - 78)
Globulin 52 g/L (24 - 42)
Albumin/Globulin Ratio 0.69 (1.0 - 2.5)
GGT < 3 U/L (1 - 10)

The vet suggested that I reduce his protein intake. Currently, I'm using Eagle Pro (formerly known as Eagle Pack) which contains 23% protein contents. I also feed him a bolied sausage a day (as treat). At weekend, he gets carrot & potato cooked with beef (human grade) mixed with kibbles. On Sunday, he gets two hard boiled eggs mixed with kibbles and wet food. Rest of the week, he gets kibbles mixed with wet food.

I think the above should not contribute to his current problem, but I'm not sure about it.  The vet suggested that I go for a second blood test this week to check on him. He also reommended that the blood test should also cover tick fever. I'm bringing him to the vet this weekend.

Would appreciate knowlegeable forum members who can interpret the above results and suggest some solutions/steps I may need to take.
