Gosh DebiSue I missed all the fun, it was a very busy day for all it seems. Very classic for bite or sting as hodie told you, I am going to back her up with this one. Poor puppy. Saw Brix today he looks fantastic, he is growing like a weed.
Always,
Cee

 Deb,

Yes, a syringe of epinephrine is the same thing as an EpiPen. The small difference is that epi pens supposedly are easy to administer, but so are injections of Epi as you would normally give it subcutaneously, meaning into the skin, but not deep into muscle etc. And you have to be careful about this because it can skyrocket heart rate and even make BP go up. BUT, when a person or dog is in serious respiratory distress, this becomes a life-threatening emergency. Talk to your vet about it, how to give, when to give etc. and hope you never ever have to use it. Be sure it does not expire on date.....

Many people have allergic reactions each time they get stung and nothing more severe, so not everyone or dog for that matter, will worsen each time. But sometimes it is difficult to know who will and who won't. So perhaps being prepared is a good idea. Talk to your vet about it.

Take care.
