I have a dog whose "paperwork" DOB is Nov 22 but she was born on Oct 30. Apparently the stud dog's book was full, mom went into season early and things were fudged so the litter could be registered. At least that's what I was told by the breeder, who made himself out to be the victim when he lost half the litter. I guess he thought the dog wasn't due for a few more weeks, had her jumping in and out of his truck, and she started popping out puppies in his office. Nice, huh?
