Has anyone ever sent a dog overseas to be titled ? If so what was your experience ? Iam really thinking about sending a dog out to holland

It might be less expensive for you to do your foundation work here, and save up for a vacation over there for you and your dog, spend a month or two polishing him up, and do the titling yourself. Don't know, never priced it out.

It has been several years but I have sent several over to Germany
They did not care or need a dog to be on the sleeve they wanted them to bite the rag or tug well. They want them really well socialized to sites and situations.
Cost then 2500 - 3000 Eu for BH, AD, KKL and the 1. Add in a fortune for plane fare both ways.
And this was with someone who was well known to us.

Lot of risk for what I consider cheating/lazy. Also deprives the handler of all that growth and bonding.
Can only be a pure financial decision to add monetary value to the dog.

We've had several come back ruined. Once your dog is out of your hands, you no longer have control over what happens.

I have dogs titled by other people regularly and must say I got dogs back from several trainers in very bad shape, both fysical as emotional, goes without saying that they never get dogs from me anymore
Have several trainers now where dogs come back well trained, happy and in good shape

I was successful in training sch ( all three of my dogs qualified for next level, so it wasn't a skim by) because I was a trainer BEFORE I put my hands on any gsd.
Unfortunately, there are many so called trainers who don't really even like dogs and have no reservations when it comes to screwing 'unsuspecting consumers' out of their money and dog's health.

I'm really fond of the Swedish temperament test for dogs and have done similar things. Gives a great overall assessment of a dog and what it is / isn't lacking...
