I just love the Olympics!

Who hoo! Michael Phelps! ...Diane Taurasi!

That is one beautiful country and ocean!

Am I the only one watching? 🤔

The swimming is incredible! World Records are being set. Amazing these fast swims. Adam Peaty swims to gold, from the UK in the 100 breaststroke. People usually think that stroke is easy, but there is an incredible amount of technique to actually swim it fast!

The Hungarian woman swimmer, Katinka Hosszu was probably the most incredible swimmer with her WR 400m IM. She destroyed the old record! No one came close to her. Don't miss her swim the backstroke today. Beating her is going to be near impossible.

The Aussies are showing redemption too, with first place medal in the woman's 400 freestyle relay. The Campbell sister's just were too much for US Katie Ledecky.

US has had great swims and personal bests, but it has not been enough for gold. The first and only USA gold, goes to the woman shooter! Weirdly, that seems to make a strange sort of sense.

The men's pommel horse was a disappointment to watch! Their performance on the rings helped improve the overall feel of the US gymnastic team, who still qualified at second place. Let's hope they get in a better groove going forward!

The cyclists on the road with this climb and then the descent is nerve wracking and exhausting. How they manage this ride is beyond me!

Horrible crash! Dutch leader fell.. I hope she didn't break her neck! Looks very frightening!

Heartbreaker for the USA at the final seconds. Brutal loss. Wow.

 

 

Women's Rugby..... OMG! Those are some tough ladies... Can't say I have any idea about what the rules are, but I am sure I can think of maybe 5000 things I would rather do, than play rugby! 😊

Simone Biles, USA gymnast is the bomb! Not even five feet tall she is all power and grace. Definitely, she is my favorite gymnast to watch.

Swimmer Katie Ledecky broke her own WR in a break away, awesome swim for gold on the 400 free. Men's 400 relay was a heart thumper but watching Phelps in his excellent exchange and to then swim, again, to a lead, fending off France was joyful! The whole men's relay team was wonderful to watch. Kudos to UK Adam Peaty, in the breaststroke, as he rules the water with his own WR swim.

The pairs diving is always fun to watch. China divers were the best.

I wish they showed more than five seconds of the fencing! There was a three second story about one Muslim woman competing in the fencing because it was a sport that allowed for her to cover up. No doubt she also had skill but I wish I could have seen it. Compare that uniform to the beach volleyball women's uniform! Whooo-boy, there is a contrast for ya'!

Prayers go out for the speedy recovery for injured Dutch cyclist who is still in the hospital having suffered a severe concussion and three cracked vertebra.

I didn't watch women's basketball but no surprise there, with them reported as dominating their competition in the early match ups.

I usually wait until they cover track and field. The thing I don't like is that they tend to cover the sports where Americans do well so the less popular sports don't get much coverage. Unless the sport involves women in swimsuits, like beach volleyball or diving, or tight shorts like volleyball.

You must not have watched woman's rugby! Not too much in the elegant arena with that one!

The French woman beat USA , in fencing.

And the equestrian cross country going on now, is one grueling course! I absolutely love watching this event.
