Ben Carson endorses Donald Trump! Whoa, nellie! I am going to have to stop and rethink everything, now. I never saw this coming, no sir-eee! Just finished listening to Trump speak this morning, and this new elegant and cerebral Trump, with Carson backing him, well.
Hillary should be worried. Very worried! This is a game changer, IMHO
Looks like any news of the death of the GOP is greatly exaggerated!

How does it change the game? "There's two different Donald Trumps. There's the one you see on stage and the one that's very cerebral, sits there and considers things very carefully."
So is this a split personality a multiple personality, or what? This doesn't change the game it only proves that republicans will support things they do not believe in - to gain the edge they preceive.
by beetree on 11 March 2016 - 16:03
I wouldn't have put Donald in the cerebral camp myself, but I have thought of Ben Carson that way. So, I think his endorsement has some weight to it.
I don't think it is so much a split personality, but speaks more to how he is a changeable and reactive personality. He said it, "If you shove me, I'll shove back." No one was shoving, so he took the calmer, diplomatic tact.
The real point that should get you (and Hillary) worried is the point about the tremendous amount of new voters that have been flocking to the GOP. The Dem's can't say the same. Those voters just might be the tipping point that can take her out.

When a black person or for that matter any person supports a racist/bigoted/misogynist for president, I do not consider that cerebral, I consider that selling out. Who says Hillary is going to win? Who says I support Hillary? What happened to republicans not voting for people who support abortion? The republicans are selling out, the religious right is selling out. Sad state of affairs in the republican party.

If I am putting you in a Dem box, like you have thought to know who I will vote for, then, we are equal in our impossible suppositions.
We are changeable, just being people, and also it is the basis of pragmatism. And that seems to be the most bothersome trait for a staunch Democrat because it would be so much easier to move along the masses if we all were always, just the same. Viva la difference!
by beetree on 11 March 2016 - 17:03
No. None of that, just the ever present drive to stick with the PC verbiage, to demonize what needs to be discussed.
I thought his comments about China rang true. Why not talk about that!

by GSD Admin on 11 March 2016 - 17:03
China? lol, whatever Bee you can spin it how you want, Trump does so go ahead but you and plenty of others are making a grave mistake about da Donald. All from the same people who blame Obama for everything but overlook everything Trump says and does. Fucking unreal world. Fucking unreal people. Fucking unreal Americans.

Those politicians sure play a rough game! I was unaware of this specific allegation until I read your link, btw. I had to go about and live my life at some points in the past few days. Any way, why aren't we seeing pictures of these alleged "finger shaped bruises"? I would think, that sort of evidence would be plastered all over the media!
I take a bit of offense at having my POV called a "spin"! LOL
I am still trying to figure things out, I thought my vacillation was fairly evident with my posts. I really get confused too, when you start bringing in the "blame Obama for everything" people, because it leaves me utterly baffled, as in who are you talking about? Certainly, not me. I don't think the blame game is productive! Didn't I say that already in one of my other posts?
The rank and file American's just aren't buying that everyone has to be hated and shunned, those who think differently. They are taking back freedom of ideas, and their speech. They are saying we need to talk about things we see as problems, not suppress them, in order to address them. That doesn't happen with guarded speech and always having to be put on the defensive because of a vicious attack on a personality, because someone else feels they have found the only route as being the superior one.
Talking about trade, including China is much more conducive to understanding what kind of president that Trump might make, than hoping to scare away votes spinning him into a bully and racist because he wants to tackle the hot button issues that fuel our pathetic trade and wage situation. Or, even how terrorism and Islam perhaps, exist in truth? I don't think we have those answers settled or finite, going by the state of things today. I recently read a Leon Uris book, called The Haj, that I think might be more towards how his thinking is leaning when trying to understand his comment claiming that, "Islam hates us." (Please don't jump to the conclusion that I hate all Muslims or all Muslims hate us. My egg sharing neighbors are wonderful Muslims, we only enjoy each other's company, helping and sharing as good neighbor's should.) I would much rather you read the book and then we could have a meaningful dialogue regarding cultural differences that persist and how to better coexist.
I see you are dropping F bombs! I am annoying you, but that isn't my intention. My thoughts and motives are more in line with this article by Jack Welch, regarding talking politics!

Bee, if you were annoying me I would tell you. It is the blindness I see from those that are educated and should know better. Haven't we learned yet as a nation that division, racism and stupidity is not going to ever work.
A very disturbing first hand experience from a Trump rally. Bee have you been to a Trump rally? Because if he is going to act like this on the campaign trail what is he going to do when an ally disagrees with him? This man is not fit to be commander and chief. And no twisting is ever going to change my mind.
So, if you know me or my friend, Seth Quackenboss, then you know that we often get ourselves into ridiculously wacky situations, especially when we're together. Yesterday was one of those days. We decided to drive down to Fayetteville in order to hear a certain orange politician speak. Yes, you guessed it. We went to a Donald Trump rally. Now, I am not a supporter of Mr. Trump in any way, shape, or form. I'm quite inclined to a certain berning sensation that I've been experiencing for some time. But that's beside the point. The point is, we thought that we were in for a time of jokes and hilarity. And at the beginning, it was. There were a few speakers before Trump came out and they were not well organized at all. They were comical. One man, a veteran, said that he had shed blood on 7 continents. And unless I missed the great Antartica War, I highly doubt that's true. Let it be known for the record, that I am not against veterans in any way shape or form. I just thought that particular comment was funny. Because I doubt he actually wounded someone in Antarctica. But a more plausible explanation would be that he was doing penguin research and accidentally pricked a penguin and it bled. Anyway...
One speaker also said that we needed to get rid of 911 calls and we all need to handle our problems ourselves. Well...that's highly unlikely. I can't imagine that people will start forgoing 911 calls when their house in burning down in order to try and extinguish the fire themselves. But, ya know, it's a nice thought.
So those were my laughable moments. Trump was about to come out. We had our signs ready. We were going to go all out. Yelling and screaming and whatnot. Because, why else were we there if not to join the spectacle? He comes out. People go crazy. For the first twenty to thirty minutes I sat there with high expectations of hilarity. After half an hour, my feelings turned extremely grim. I was scared and upset. Let me explain.
Trump basically said the same few things the whole time. He knows exactly what will get a cheer from the crowd and he says it. He mentioned his wall several times. About five or six if I can remember correctly. At one point he said "We're going to build a wall. And who's going to pay for it?" And the crowd yelled, "Mexico!" and then they lost their minds. Now, we all know exactly why this is stupid. So I won't elaborate. It was just very unsettling. He mentioned ISIS several times. About ten. But not exactly how to stop ISIS. Just comments like, "We're gonna get ISIS," and "ISIS is going down." Blanket statements. He did say that for America to win again (any sort of winning, not just against ISIS) we have to go outside of the law and he isn't afraid to do it. And that's unsettling for several reasons. But I'm just reporting the facts.
And that was all he said on policy. Completely void of content or substance. Just statements that would get the crowd cheering. Now, let's talk about the protesters. There were many. I think throughout the hour long rally, there were roughly 15-20 groups of protesters. Some of them were individuals and some were in groups. They popped up throughout the rally here and there. And some of them were yelling and causing a raucous but some of them were just standing there with their anti-Trump shirts or their pro-whoever else shirts. They were all removed. Peaceful or violent. One man had a shirt that said "Love is the answer," and he was thrown out. Trump's comment on this man was, "And love is very important but I mean, who's making love to that guy?" And my stomach churned. A few minutes later, a woman stood up not far from where the other man was and starting protesting. She was removed. Trump's comment was, "She was with the other guy. They're actually a couple. A *clears throat* beautiful *gagging noises* couple." And the crowd laughed and cheered. It was horrifying.
But out of everything I saw, the crowd was the worst part. I have never seen more hateful people in my life. Everyone was just filled with so much hatred. If a protester had a sign, even the peaceful ones, they would take the sign from them, rip it up, and throw it back at the protesters. Whenever a protester would get removed, the crowd would yell horrible things. Once, after a protester was removed, Trump said, "Where are these people coming from? Who are they?" A lady, sitting not 5 feet from me, said, "Well hopefully when you're president, you'll get rid of em all!" Get rid of them? Get rid of anyone who opposes Trump? It was sickening. I felt truly nauseous. And these people loved the protesters. They loved the drama and the chaos. And Trump fed upon it. It was easily one of the strangest and uncomfortable things I've ever witnessed. I could just hear the horrible things being spoken around me and it made my skin crawl.
Needless to say, there was very little laughter on my part. I thought this was going to be joke...and it was, but for a very different reason. I implore you, if you're thinking about voting for Trump, reconsider. You are only promoting chaos and hatred. I witnessed it firsthand. And trust me, this is not something you want to see in person. This is not what you want to happen to our country. But I'll leave you with this picture we took with our souvenir. This was taken just before I lost all innocence and faith in humanity.

Oh and this little tidbit. Trump is a complete moron. Just read how he claims to know what is going on out there but then when pressed on an issue claims ignorance. And we want this man as President? OMG, it is true America is getting stupider by the second when we the people twist, spin and outright become delusional over this reality TV loser.
WARNING: this post contains comments on the US Presidential Race. I generally recoil when celebrities get up on their political soap boxes, so please know that that's not what i'm doing here. I'm simply making an observation about current events and doing a little arm-chair fact-checking in the process...
Ben Carson [heretofore C-Bone] has endorsed Donald Trump [heretofore "The Duck"] for the Presidency! C-Bone, you may remember, recently ended his bid for the Presidency. You may also remember C-Bone's remarkable campaign during which he displayed an incredible knack for staying horse-tranquilizer-calm while saying bat-shit crazy things. Of course his endorsement is a huge boon for The Duck.
However (and here's the fact checking portion of my comments) when C-Bone endorsed the The Duck he said:
"There are two different Donald Trumps [The Ducks]. There’s the one you see on the stage and there’s the one who’s very cerebral, sits there and considers things very carefully."
To which The Duck later responded:
"I don't think there's two Donald Trumps. I think there's one Donald Trump, but certainly, you have, look, all of this, and you have somebody else that sits and reads and thinks and I'm a thinker, and I have been a thinker. And perhaps people don't think of me that way because you don't see me in that forum, but I am a thinker," he said. "I'm a very deep thinker. I know what's happening."
Let's break this down: First, we can say with certainty that both men are dead wrong about how many Donal Trumps there are. C-Bone says there are two Donald Trumps, The Duck argues there "there's [sic] one." But a cursory search of the internet shows that there are in fact twenty men named Donald Trump in the US alone. So right away, we know neither man is doing due diligence.
Let's examine The Duck's comments a bit further. He says something that's at the very least inconsistent and perhaps an outright lie. He says (and this is the direct quote), "I know what's happening." How can he say that when every time he is asked a question on the campaign trail about say, how the pledges he solicits at his rallies resemble nazi solutes, he says, "I hadn't heard that." Or when pressed on the fact that Muslim American groups find his comments deeply disturbing he says, "I don't know anything about that." In fact, he seems to answer pretty much every question that might cast him in a negative light with, "i hadn't heard that," "i don't know anything about that," "i'm going to look into that" or some variation on the theme. The Duck can't have it both ways, either he knows what's happening or he doesn't. I wish he'd make up his mind.
He also makes a pretty radical claim about himself when responding to C-Bone's Double Duck comment--he claims that he's "a thinker," and he goes further to assert that he's "a very deep thinker." This is of course not true, but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he is just beat from a long campaign trail and that he was mixing up words (as we all do from time to time when we are run down). My best guess is that when he was saying, "thinker" he meant to be saying either "racist" or "xenophobe" or perhaps "misogynist" But we may never know with certainty.
