Kennel Eqidius , Foundation Females - Page 1

I do not know all that much about the Eqidius kennel but I,m trying to learn more,I see the kennel name come up a lot in pedigrees, the best I can tell some of the foundation females look like they might be Ida Eqidius or Arne Eqidius or Nike Eqidius so which of these females or perhaps all of them seem to be the strongest foundation females ?

Thank you Susie that is a great link to a lot of facts but I,m also wanting personal opinions on some of these early females or the other females I missed from reading the website.

Sorry, Bundi, I am no help at all in this case, I only wanted to point out that the breeder started his kennel with the name "Egidius" and had to change to "Eqidius" later on. That said his "foundation" females are "Egidius" dogs, not "Eqidius", he started breeding in the 70s.

Exactly I thought I noticed the name change also awhile back, but just wasnt sure if someone was misspelling the name or not,now I know the new spelling is with a Q not G like the old spelling, the kennel looks like its been around a long time and as far as I know aren,t they still producing nice working dogs,its seems like over the years they have used some nice West german working males into their breeding program.

Nike produced many famous dogs such as Norman Eqidius, Saturn Eqidius, Cherri Eqidius, Quintus Eqidius and the most famous, Drago Eqidius, who is the father of Geischa Eqidius (3rd in WUSV 2012), Faro Demin Dvor (16th WUSV 2010), Original Maly Lumpik (2014, 2015 Slovakia Champion and 27th WUSV 2014). Drago is also the grandfather of Chris Spod Lazov (2013 FCI Champion).

I believe the Q and G was a mixed up when they submit their kennel name to FCI, forcing them to change from original Egidius (which is the name of a church where the kennel is located) to Eqidius.

Simba ive heard of a few of the names you mentioned yes Nike looked good for a 14 year old dog. I have Saturn in the pedigree of pups i have and he seems to be a respected male in what came out of him. Drago E. Is in washington state i have heard, but i dont know if hes gotton very many breedings in his older age, i saw that there was an old thread talkng about him. I think a male that it cements how well he produced was Aly which Eqidius looked they used with at least one of their better known females.

Nancy eqidius was a really good producer ,Cheri eqidius seems to be producing really well .I have Betina eqidius which is also a top producer with several different studs .

I see that Nancy is a female that Nike produced, I looked up Cheri and noticed she was bred to both Black- Jack and his brother Balko I thought that was interesting

I believe Eqidius used Aly as stud once and Nike is his daughter. The other few studs that have heavy influence at Eqidius are Nash vom Lisdorferland and Tyson von der Schiffslache. Nash was used 7 or 8 times, Drago and Witz are famous Nash's son. Whereas for Tyson, Eqidius used him more than 17 or 18 times on different females over a span of 5 or 6 years. Both Balko and Black-jack are litter-mate and sons of Tyson.
