hi VK nice aggression bite is not good u need to instructed the decoy to relax when the dog bites bring his arm lower to the ground so at that moment the dog is not hanging on and then he we will adjust his bite himself aslong as the decoy is pulling him around he will never learn to get a full grip i would probly keep him on a lead till you fix his bite when biting with front of mouth you loosen the rendition on the lead decoy stands still and you will see the dog adjust is grip i hope this makes sence hard for me to explain in writing all the best

Nice post by yogidog.
Dog, like human, has to learn to fight without stress. Better to develop bite in prey (no stress) and when that becomes a secondary reflex let him graduate to more serious fighting situations.

thanks comments, bite has improved from first clip. not sure if it will ever be the calm full grip we all look for, part genetic and part lack of early development in this case.
comment about bring the arm down before out is good but have problem, when dog gets all feet on the ground and a face is in range the dog will target it. he is dirty as F and and keeping him off the ground is safer for the decoy atm, i prefer a hand on the dog before his feet get set.
have ordered a full face helmet and will get some hand sleeves and do some more inside work, but not right now.
not making excuses for the grip but i watch my dog work out hunting, he has the same grip ie not full and leans back with a big head thrash often targeting the stomach of larger prey that can fight back with strikes, slashes and bites - i believe it is a dissection bite aimed to cause rapid blood loss, tissue damage and pain induced trauma. smaller prey that fit in the dog's mouth he bites full and calm. i have seen this enough times to think it may be valid, quiet brutal to witness but a calm full grip would just be stupid and counter-productive in such a scenario. this dog is closer to a wolf than a bull-dog in that regard.

i have a dog still own him when he was young he was the same bit the decoy on the nose and top lip. helmet good.. turn this into a pray drive and as soon as the decoy lowers his arm dog fixes his bite let him have the coat .he will soon realise full grip wins. i would personally id put him back on the sleeve lower the aggression when he is going to bite and turn it into pray drive that nerve wont be as strong move the sleeve from left to right and give him the bite turn decoy body to the side so less intimidation. he will get a full grip same as before when he bites loosen the lead decoy stand still he will adjust when he does give him the win. wont take long for you to here the thump of a full grip on the first bite. o by the way i would put him back on a junior sleeve the bite will be easier and when he gets it move him up again. i no it like starting again wont take long well wort it when you see a dog fighting calm he stronger in every way hope this helps

I don't like the work at all. Why did you post this? Dog has no grip, dog comes off the sleeve. Dog only grips with front teeth. What are you trying to train for. Nice dog but training needs to be reconsidered for someone with as large a trap as you have. I sure hope tho that I did not make a mistake on the ID. Dog deserves better than the trainer and decoy.

yogi, i must admit i do have some trouble reading your wording at times, a shame because you have a lot of experience and knowledge re working dogs. i generally get yr drift after a second read.
thanks for the constructive input.

sunshine thats an ass of a post. What this dog has is natural aggression .And was not taught how to control it .The bite is erratic because the dog was most likely when young let bite in aggression instead of brought back into pray. And taught to bite cam with full grips. Alot of dogs have to be brought into pray drive to build aggression .I would think this dog is the other way very high argression. And thats why when dog is shown high aggression you bring him back into pray drive let him bite cam without any fight then his bite will be full VK i and most know you have best intentions when it comes to your dog just slow yourself down and get the benefits

yogi don't be too hard on our little ray of sunshine, she can call it how she sees it, diversity is good. She might even post a vid of her own and teach us both a thing or two........and she uses the word "trap" for mouth, that is so 70's, how cute.
