Keith,  why start this ridiculous thread.  Maybe with the people who attacked the Trade Center, but Christians don't do (or shouldn't do) things like that.  At least ones who follow the bible correctly.

There have been numerous atrocities performed by those that "follow the bible".  Wars, murders, changing of countries, etc by those that follow the bible who feel their interpretation is correct.  "Christians" hands are just as dirty as everyone else's.

Sirius Black, like I said......."or shouldn't do".    There are people today who claim they got a message from God telling them to kill someone, or to attack a group of people, or whatever......Many people claim to be Christians, but yet they murder, steal, etc.....If they really were following the bible, they wouldn't do those things.  I think often times many Christians like that, give Christians who try to do the right thing......a bad name by commiting those crimes or doing those bad things.  The Christians I know are nothing like that.  And to bring up war..... Well, personally I do believe there is a time for war....Not that the US has always gone to war for the right reasons, but certain wars have been needed in my opinion.

This thread reminded me of this scene from The West Wing. One of my favorite shows.

"Science flies you to the moon; religion flies you into buildings. "

 Narrow minded statement IMO

"Narrow minded statement IMO"

I would submit that it is a broad-minded statement.

There is a difference between blind faith and intelligent faith.  Blind faith is intolerant of differences or any questions or doubt, blind faith is exactly that, blind.  Intelligent faith welcomes differences, questions, and doubt because within your faith, there are answers and finding those answers strengthens your faith.
