You know it's cold when this chick is playing INSIDE for the day. After getting bent from stupid posts I thought I would go out and work the dogs. Not my most intelligent idea. Within 10 minutes the dog breath was forming icicles from their faces, their necks were solid ice (again just from breathing). Then a light bulb went off "photo op" I said to myself. The darn camera shutter froze in the open position!!! Now we are all back in the house. The kids have some nice bones and I have a coffee. Sometimes it's just too cold :) (-47 with windchill)

Looking out the window, I see the sun shine, I feel the breeze blowing, I see the temp at 73 degrees and I am loving it. -47 is a hint...MOVE!!

Absolutely gorgeous here. I love the fact that we have 4 seasons. I know that sounds odd but when I lived on the coast you sort of had only 2 . Sunshine and then rain from Nov - April. As for animals. We have lots of wolves, moose, black bear and lots and lots of cougars. I was told we have Grizz but have never seen any whistles in the poop around the house. I think I am pretty safe. Oh and yesterday i saw some sort of webbed footprint down by the pond, not sure if it was a beaver or a muskrat. A new northern experience for me has been these damned ravens! Just try to lay tracks with those beady eyed little --stards around! All in all, I have only one complaint, mosquitos!!! Now I understand that the ones in Saskatchewan are much larger , so I have been told to quit whining about the baby ones we have here :) Our kennel is on a 6 acre chunk of rolling land and behind us is crown land as far as you can go. heaven!
