White Lilac of Blinkbonny was one of the founding dogs used to create the first litter for the breed “White Swiss Shepherd” or Berger Blanc Suisse” along with Lobo of White Burch.
White German Shepherd Dogs had been almost completely exterminated from much of Europe (culled) after the SV declared them albinos and that they diluted coat colors of colored shepherds. Later, when more was known about genetics, this was found to be not correct. They are not albinos, nor do they cause dilution in colored litters. The white German Shepherd Dog could still be found in the USA, Canada, UK. In the 1970’s Mrs Agathe Burch moved from the United States to Switzerland, and brought her male White Shepherd Lobo of White Burch. He was mated with White Lilac of Blinkbonny from England, and they are bred under the Shangrila prefix. Their pups began to spread throughout Europe and were breed with other white American/Canadian imports. Lobo’s and Lilac’s first litter was the first to be officially enrolled in the book of the origins for the WSS.
In 2002 FCI recognized the breed that was officially denominated "White Swiss Shepherd" as provisional, and in 2011 they were accepted by the FCI on a definitive basis. While WWS are still come from 100% German shepherd lines, the breed standard is different in relation to conformation and temperament.

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
